Neat trick when answering discussions

Do you ever answer a discussion twice because you had forgotten if you had already answered it. I found a neat trick to use so that I dont answer discussions twice. As soon as you decide you will answer that discussion. RATE IT!! Thats it!!! Then later when you are looking for discussions you can see the ones you already answered because you already rated it!! Try it now. Rate my discussion and then answer it.

Yes, I use the rating system to 'leave my mark', as it were. I also try to rate other responses in the discussion, if I think they merit it (and they usually do). Of course, my ratings are always positive, when I do rate. The only time I give a negative is when a response is obviously off topic (and therefore abuses the social aspect of MyLot) or when a discussion is clearly against the rules.

Yep i do the same as you, i figure if a person takes the time to answer a discussion or to make a discussion and the discussion is not breaking rules it merits a plus. Even if i don't agree with it.

I have done that and consider this as a great idea because I have replied to a same discussion twice, twice before.

I've only ever done that once; answer a discussion twice, that is. That was when I used to go to Discussions Started by Friends. Now, I go in from email notifications and it hasn't happened again. Brightest Blessings my friend.

LOL That is a good way to get your discussion rated sweet twinny! lol One big problem - I usually answer from email notification and you cannot rate until you have afteryou respond in that situation! xxxx

Lol i must say it is a nice trick lol...to get ratings.. i think but it will not work but hardly people here forget that they have posted a respond in that particular discussion topic twice. rather i never forget which section i have responded and where not. so you see, some dont forget but still as you did so much effort here is your rating :) do rate back if passed by some topics lol

It does work and if you read the other replies you will see that some people do forget . I being on of them. I did not make this discussion to get rating. i did it to help people. Thanks for your reply

I have been doing that for a long time. It is a neat trick. Sometimes a discussion becomes active again after a long period of time has passed. I think I answered it but I am not sure. Maybe I missed it. So I open it and if I have rated it then I know I have also answered that one. I am glad you have shared this trick with others.

Hello my friend. I had someone tell me that trick a long time ago. and it has helped on a few occasions . Hugs I hope you are well.

The other neat trick is always to be among the top few to respond to the discussion. LOL. I know there are some in some circle of friends who beat to be the first to respond to a friend's discussion. It was fun racing! LOL.

Maybe this idea will get some of the normal "not raters" to start actually rating some of the discussions they respond too! Good idea. Shalom~Adoniah

that is really good way to remember if we have responded on a discussion. cause days back i almost made a post on the same discussion twice. but thankfully i read carefully the discussion before making a post. and so i am able to remember while i am reading the discussion that i have responded to it already. i don't know if it against the rules if we get to post again with the same post though not exactly the same words but with the same content in a way or meaning. but i think if we did that rarely out of mistake then it will just be fine.

I dont think its against the rules but you only get paid for the first one.

I never thought of that. I've gone into where it says "responded" and that tells what you responded to but I think I like your tip better. Thanks for the tip. Happy lotting.

I have similar doubt if I have answer the same question. I find quite a few questions are very much the same, I would normally respond the first time the most in details. The rating is something i often do with responses, now i might think about rating the discussion also.

That is a good idea! I usually don't rate discussions, but answers, but I suppose this is a good idea. (Unless it's just a ploy to get people to postively rate your dicussion.. lol).

thanks , but may i give you another tip. when you reply to a discussion make it at least two sentences long. When you just use one word answers or even just a couple of words it doesn't help you at all. Just a tip thanks :)

I've done that since I started on MyLot, it does makes things a lot easier, however, remember this is a discussion site, you can reply to replies already made to you, and you can respond more than once (you may not get paid much for extra responses though), but then very few people are here for the money.

I almost always rate a discussion, but even so I won't think to look at that. Lol, I'll also know that I rated it and responded and forget to note what page my response is on! lol! This is a great idea though and I'm going to have to remember to look to see if I've rated it!
