Hi Bombshell. Nice to chat with you again. I have always tried to learn Italian and Tagalog since my parents were from Italy and my wife is from the Philippines. But, I am ashamed to say, I have not been very successful in either language. I can understand a lot of Tagalog from listening to my wife over the years but I can not remember enough to speak it fluently at all. I am now meeting many people from Italy on Face Book and I try to use Microsoft Word to translate what they are saying but it is not very successful. Thanks for the discussion.
Happy MyLotting....

I would like to learn to speak French. I know a little but not much. I also know a little Spanish but not much of that either. I also want to learn sign language. I think it is a very expressive language.

Yes, of course. I think it would be fun to learn different languages. Specifically, I would like to learn Spanish, Japanese and French. I dunno. I just like them and in case I have to travel to Spain, Japan or France, at least, I know how to speak their native language and would easily blend in to the crowd

hello bombshell
if you speak English, do you still wish to learn any language? yes, i would like to learn how to speak Spanish. when i was in high school years ago, i took Spanish one and i do not remember much of what that i had learned in that class these days at all. lol and learning a foriegn language like that would just be lots more knowledge of something different that a person is able to learn. then if i knew how to speak or understand a different language like that, when that i might happen to be out and about travelling somewhere or even shopping or being out in public somewhere, i would be able to pick up on a conversation, which otherwise, i haven't a clue as to what somebody else might be saying in their native language.
take care and have a beautiful afternoon.

I know how to speak english. Definetely. And i also know how to speak hindi( Language spoken in india as i am from india). i can also under and abit of french and german. learnt it in school, never took it seriously, therefore not that good at it.
Now i am tking classes for spanish. its really a very pretty language.
The language i wanna learn is Japanese. Its so cool. But it is very difficult. I tried to learn it on internet. couldn't understand a single thing, therefore i quit. Can't find a single Japanese teacher around here.
if you know about any site that teaches japanese, then please let me know..
Also, does learning so many languages help. i read somewhere that knowing too many languages makes people dumb..

It's important to know as many language as possible . The knowledge you know represent you and if you know many language it's nothing bad . The important think is to know english i think almost all the people knows to speak in english , not good , but they understand english . If you are in a new country and you dont know english , what do you do ? You can ask for help , because nobody understand you .
As many language you know as much better .
