Photography has been my hobbie for many years. most of that time has been spent with a 35mm cam. In 2005 I went digital and I have not gone back to 35mm since. which do you prefer? I think I will stay with digtal. I still have my 35mm but it has gone unsued. my digal cam is so much more compact and easy to use. but of all I can conect it up to my coputer and download inages to my hard drive. I can even use my prnter to make extra copies.
what do you think?

Digital camera's are so much easier. You can see the photo you take right away so you know whether it was a good picture or if you need to take another one. You can go through and make sure you have the pictures you want right on the spot. It's also so much easier to put them on the computer rather then to have to sit and scan them all. I love my digital camera!

You are very right dear, as I am also a photo hobbyist with 35 mm SLR lying idle. But what I have experienced is that, Digital cameras are great but they make you a bad photographer as you are not spending anything on the negatives and you can take as many photographs as you wish and select good ones later! Isn't it?

Yes, and thanks for the respose. One of the best things is the fact that you can ease the mistakes and print and save the photos that are the best ones. I do it all the time with my cam. the majority are on my harddrive and I print the ones I realy want to show.

35mm make nice pix, but if you load it wrong - you're outta luck
I was buying the disposable ones because I could never load the darn things right, and that means you don't have the ablility to use long distance lenses or take timed pix or even shoot in the dark long opening on the lens.
my roomie has a nice digital (if she can find it, it has some cute kitty pix on it) and I use my iPhone for shots then you can edit them on the computer

Hi, thanks for the respose. Yes you are right, if you load a 35mm the wrong way you will be out of luck. I have had it happen to me a few times during my lifetime.

Hello there, glad to see that i can participate well with your discussion. For me i personally prefer the digital camera over the 35mm camera. We have this professional camera at home, but we seldom use it because it was so big or bulky although you can zoom it using the big lenses my dad bought, but of course for some reason, you would prefer handy things right.
Ok here is my opinion,i will elaborate:
1.) The cost of a digital camera works out far cheaper than the 35mm film camera. When you buy a digital camera it may have internal memory, but you can also add a memory card for extra space. But in 35mm you also had to buy film that would only store 24 or 36 pictures at the most each time your film was finished.
2.)Better picture quality- I'm sure you would say yes
3.) It is convenient to use digital than 35mm, you can transfer and print pictures on your pc. The options and choices are endless. It takes landscapes, close-ups, put a frame around your picture, take video clips, delayed timers, menus, and numerous other settings unlike the SLR 35mm film camera basically had a button that you could press to take a photo.
4.)You don't need to be a professional photographer using digital camera, you can do whatever you like, you can also erase bad shots.
5.) Easy to share with friends, you can upload pictures easily and your friends will see it, not like 35mm, you have to wait for an hour for the film to be processed, if film is exposed, you will get nothing. Happy Mylotting!

HI, you see there are disscouions you can coment on haaaha. you have said a lot allready. however, on picture qaulity, a cam with a higher megipixel resiloution will take even better pics. I could tell a differnce when I compared the pics taken from my old one from the new one. Yes one of the great things is you can erase bad shots. I have total of three memory cards for pics, when one fills up I can go to the next one. Best of all my dig cam is so compact it is easy to carry around.
