After 20 years of watching the Simpsons, how did you feel watching the movie? Personally, I've seen it a couple of times now and it still hasn't gotten better. What do you think? A once brilliant show that has gone steadily downhill for a decade? Or a still pretty good show that is trying it's best after more than 500 stories?

I didn't mind the movie, but it definitely doesn't compare to The Simpsons back in it's hey day.
The series has been on a steady decline for years and I rarely ever watch it anymore.
My personal opinion is that they should have quit years ago and stuck to running re-runs of the series when it was great.... instead of giving us new when it's average.

"Didn't mind the movie" is a very reasonable response and I think that's pretty close to where I'm at as well. I must say I think you're right, they should've quit and rested on their decade of great work.

I have yet to see the movie. Maybe I'll look around and see if I can get a used copy for around $5. I have to say that the current season and other recent seasons seem to have more misses than hits. This season in particular really hasn't been that great.

I was disappointed by the movie. I only saw it once and would watch again if it was playing on TV or something...but there was nothing spectacular about it. I still watch the show and laugh, but its nothing like the earlier seasons. After 20 years I think its still up there though as one of the best.
