When I was a kid, I wondered about watching cartoons as an adult. None of the adults around me and my sisters didn't, which meant I probably wound end up giving up this hobby too. As I grew, I still watched them and I continue to today as age 24. I watch the old ones when I am able to and the ones from Japan. Looking at American cartoons today, I would like to know what happened. Avatar the Last Airbender was a show for kids and if you watched it, you could see people put a lot of hard work into making it a decent show. Why don't more people do that same thing rather than creating ones like "The misadventures of FlapJack," and "Chowder"?
What do you think of the cartoons today compared to the ones of the past?

Absolutely they do!..They even have adult cartoons..a huge business..
I would love to see some of the "old" shows..like the Flinstones..I would watch it..lol
Many of us who do not watch them as a rule, probably would stop and watch if an old favourite came on TV!

Hi rovian. Why not an adults to watch cartoons?? Do you know what, my grandpa is a fans of Tom and Jerry. So, I don't see any problem there and I do watch cartoons. I think some of cartoons today are better than the past. =)

When I was a kid, there was a time I thought I was going to end up giving up watching cartoons. I didn't see it as something adults did. I've grown up and would still do this if there is a good one like Avatar the Last Airbender, but it ended last year and was taken off the air. Could you give examples of which cartoons you think are better than the ones of the past? I understand some of them were not good ones.

Yes adult do watch cartoons. One of the biggest adult who is 29 years old who watch cartoon is me. I love watching cartoons. Cartoon Network is my favorite channel. Tom and Jerry is my favorite cartoons. I also love watching disney cartoons. Donald Duck and Mickey Mouse are my favorite cartoons. Watching cartoons always helps to relax and to forget all the stress of my life. Sometimes I laugh like children watching the cartoons.

I love the buggs bunny cartoons. I think that the problem with cartoons now is that they are getting tacky.

It is either the cartoonists or the people in charge who need to understand that they don't need crap. The Flintstones was a decent series about cavemen and when I put on an episode, it can hold my four year old nephew's attention. He enjoys it and if I was to turn it off during the middle of an episode, he would want me to put it back on.
