Anyone can help solve problem about sync from my computer to the internet?

I just bought a new laptop (windows vista), and I like to sync files between my folder and the internet as I have done with my previous laptop. However, the machine tell me that it is failed. I also has problem with almost all the program that connect the desktop with the internet. How I can resolved my problem? The software I try to connect is dropbox, syncplicity, live messenger, yahoo! messenger download etc.
