Oh yeah,I forgot, these jobs are going to take years to develop. What are the American people supposed to do until then?A few dollars more in an unemployment check isn't really going to help.
I'm one of the lucky ones.I have a decent job and there are no signs of any layoffs. But there are many out there that are losing or have lost their jobs. What is Obama going to do about them?
Maybe if he would start caring as much about the American people as he does about illegal immigrants he would realize that there are jobs out there.Americans need to quit acting like illegal immigration is not as big of a problem as economics. The two go hand in hand.We need to band together and force the government to enforce our immigration laws.Better yet,we need to make them tougher.

Okay, here's one:
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2009/02/17/mo_bridge_project_touted_as_first_under_stimulus/
It's a project to repair a bridge in rural Missouri that I heard about on the news the other night. There are quite a few people who had been unemployed working on this project. You can probably find more if you do a search.

I've never heard of Tuscumbia and I've lived in the midwest all my life.
There's no doubt a lot of areas are in need of repairs and this will bring jobs but things like this are only temporary. What happens when the bridge is finished?

I guess the company that is working on this project will have other projects available down the line. This bridge was *really* bad...a chunk of it fell off during taping of the news story and almost landed on the reporter's head. The funny thing is that this story wasn't focused on the stimulus money making this job available and putting these people to work...it was focused on the fact that this job was being done instead of more important ones in the nearby large cities...or was it just one city? Anyway, some higher ups were complaining that this rural bridge wasn't a priority...but it was actively falling apart so it looked like one to me.

It amazing the man has been in office almost three months and the mess BUSH made is suppose to disaappear overnight. How about the wonderful stimulus check Mr.Bush gave us and once you file your taxes, you will see it was just a govenment loan because it's taken back out of your tax refund. This is not Obama mess, this is BUSH 1 and BUSH 2 lets talk about that. The people are not going to win, they just let us have a voice.

Don't leave Clinton out of this mess. This has been building for 30 years. So far,Obamas ideas aren't going to help.I'll be the first to say I was wrong if he helps this country. In fact,I hope he will.

Did you really think Obama (or anybody else) was going to waltz into office, wave a magic wand and solve the job crises in seven weeks?
Jobs take time to create just as they take time to be lost. The reasons for the 600,000+ jobs lost last month are not rooted in the Obama administration and the jobs to take their place will not come in a few weeks. But they will be rooted in the policies put in place in the near future.
I looked at your profile to see where you were from but it's not listed. If you are from an area where illegal immigrants are taking thousands of decent jobs from Americans who want them enough to work them, I can understand your stance.
However, in my neck of the woods (Southeastern Pennsylvania) there are no jobs being taken by illegal immigrants. The immediate area about to loose several thousand high paying, high benefit jobs due to the takeover and closing of Wyeth laboratories. These job loses will impact just about every business in the area but it has nothing to do with illegal immigrants and until the economy gets a jump start, there is very little anybody can do to help this region recover.

If we stopped giving all these jobs and money to illegal immigrants, we would have more for the American people. But obama has a soft spot for illegal immigrants because his Auntie is one.

i think we should calm. we should give obama more time. we can't ask him to save the economic crisis one night.maybe it's a long way to go. i think he has done his best. i think your quiting illegal immigration is a way.but not the main way to settle the crisis. you know, your president obama is not a native american.but he is your president and he is wonderful person.so i your work hardly.left crisis to your president. just believe him, just believe government. everything will be better i think.

Um he's been the president for less than 2 months. What do you want him to do? Pull something out his azz and say Ta-DA!!
All of this sudden dissatisfaction after a couple weeks in office but where was the outrage in the previous 8 years? No bittching and moaning about Bush not creating enough jobs.
The only way people are gonna be happy is if he puts on a top hat, grabs a cane, and starts tap dancing.

I totally agree oneidmnster! I heard this administration is going to create 150,000 jobs by 2010. There are more than 150,000 jobs lost in some months. Right now Nancy Pelosi is on tv talking about how wrong ice raids are (separating fathers from their families ... boo hoo). Illegal immigrants should not be allowed to stay in this country. Plain and simple. You are'nt here legally, you do not belong here. I live in Santa Cruz County. Watsonville is a town in this county. The people who live there are primarily hispanic. A good part of them do not speak English. Like it or not, when I see people who do not bother to learn our language, I think illegal. The unemployment rate in Watsonville is 26%. The out of work will be going on welfare; going to the emergency rooms; taking advantage of the government amenities that by rights, should not be going to illegals. It is time our country started looking out for its citizens.
