Would you like your computer to be customize or just buy it on store?
If I have the skills on making a computer I prefer it to be customize rather than buying on a store. The advantage on having customize computer is you can install all your personality in it which is a good thing for me. I can repair my own pc for sure and can save me some bux for it. It's also a form of achievement and fulfillment on my part

i do have its skill and i know the unnecessity trouble it can cause, plus the price is only a slight different than buying a whole pc. not to mention if a trouble happen there's no phrase 'three years free service' on it. did i mention time it takes to choose a spare parts? picking a right part to suit your need is not just an eye blink. making price comparison is also ... you know.

Building the computer is the way to go if you can. I've built a couple and they are just as good as if you bought a name brand. The advantage of building it yourself is because you pick the parts you want. You will not get stuck with parts you don't like or of less quality than when you buy the parts yourself. Building your own does not mean your computer is going to be cheaper, but you get the specs you want.

I PREFER a customised one or DIY one.I have already got a DIY desktop which is much cheaper than brand desktop but works well for one year. However,it still seems difficult to get notebooks customised.Maybe you can easily customise the color or certain equipment in it by telling the manufacturer but at most case we can not get it customised as what we want!

Out here in India we mostly get our PC customize and most of the shops selling computers are masters in it and they can assemble your computer without softwares in 30 minutes flat and would put what ever you want and give you their advise too. When i got it made they specially told me not to put many things in computer as i wont need that for what i want to build my computer and they said though they would like me to have everything in it ( since putting more or costlier things would make them more money) but they want me to return to their shop for my next one or refer them a friend so only what i would need or what is required they put in and they said if i need more those can be added later too, free of labour charge from them. I got my Pc about 40$ cheaper than the same configuration branded one from Compaq.

I agree with you. I am not an expert or anything but I am fairly well computer literate. I would definitely like to customize my computer purchases. The main issue I have with this is that when buying a new computer they force the latest version of windows on you. For instance, now if you buy a new computer you will have to get vista which I don't want. Now; I could take it home and re-install windows xp but then I may lose out on new software etc, that was included in the new computer purchase with vista.

I like to build my own PC. Here it is when you buy a PC set it is already set up and what inside it is manufacturers choice. If you have a background on computer I think it is better if you are the one to select the parts you like. You can make your PC greater than that of a setup PC you can buy on the store.

When we are looking for a new computer, we go to a website that we can customize our pcs before we buy them. I got one that has lots of memory and ram so I can play games online. My bf got one customized so he can watch and play media on his pc. There are places to go and customize your own pc to match what you are looking for. I'd rather go this way than Walmart.
Usually you can buy pcs cheaper online than you can in a store.

I have two computers at home. One is a HP Pavilion, which is branded and comes as a set, while the other has no brand and is made of parts from different manufacturers. Both are just as reliable but the latter is slightly cheaper. The only thing I find more desirable with a branded PC is that it carries a brand name, so seems like more prestigious to have. But in reality, the PC that has parts assembled are actually also branded in a way because all the components are good stuff from OEM companies like Maxtor, Samsung, Intel, etc. Besides, assembling my own allows me all the flexibility to put in the best configuration and hardware components I desire, so I can have a super computer that meets my needs. So if I have a choice, I will prefer to assemble a PC with individual parts that I purchase.

i would really love to customize a pc for myself..especially a gaming pc...I love to have a system based on my needs and specifications..coz thats how you will like to use it...I prefer system made for games.. so i would choose the most extreme graphics card and extreme processor with lost of memory..sometimes i jus customize a pc online at alienware.com but then i am too reluctant to press the add to cart button...haha...

In england, it is much cheaper to buy a PC off the shelf than it is to build your own from scratch.
You can buy an off the shelf PC and then customise it later by adding more RAM, another HDD etc. Once you get familiar with the components you will find it quite easy to build your own.
I would not say though that building your own is the cheapest option. The reasons for building your own are:
1. You want a really well built machine using quality components
2. You want something that suits your style/ the style of the room.
3. The satisfaction of putting all the pieces together.
Case modding looks like great fun (though I've never done it). People also build pc cases out of all manner of materials, wood, perpex, aluminium.

I prefer to build my own computer, you can choose how your computer looks like and you have the option of picking and choosing the specific components that you want. Every one will use the computer for special purpose and so it is best to buy a computer which will suit personal needs.

I would definitely prefer it to be customized. Of course, I could probably never afford one in reality, but if I would definitely want a computer that I had input on what was on it.

Well the inventive side of me will want to customize my own computer. But, another part of me that is not inventive will want to buy my computer out of the store. I am kind of scared to take a chance as this. I would love to customize my own computer because, I would love to add many things of my choice to it that computers nowadays don't even offer. I think that it would be fun. I can choose my own unique design. But, on the other hand, I may buy it out of the store.

I'd rather customize my computer than buy them straight from the store. This is the best way to go for those who are on a tight budget like me. At least i can compromise a computer part like for example, i'll choose a cheaper cpu case. Unlike when you buy in a store, more often you are given no choice. If they're willing to change it for you, then it's already customized right?

I would prefer to buy it on a store that can customize your computers look to make it more unique and still offer free services when the computer starts acting funny. I like customized things because it makes me fell better that my computer has a unique look then other computers. It would also make me proud to have a customized computer because let's face it, we all want our things to be unique right? Having a unique things makes us fell proud that we are the only one that has this thing.

Personally I would like to have it customized and Technicaly you can have it done at office depot. When I bought my laptop it was customally made to what I choose and wanted to have. It was free to sit down and have it done write on the comuter. Your only charged for different componets you want or software you want to switch off for. You even save when you take things off you dont need or want. You cost goes up by adding more memory and choosing procesors and things like that. My opinion if you get what you want you will be happier with it. I love my lap top and still have it. You can track the shipping on it watch whear its at online and have it delivered to the store if you like.

Well I would prefer to customize rather than buying a branded one.
I know how to solve most of the technical problems which many computers trouble.
Well I can even get combination of desired things such as different monitor, speakers, Cabinet, etc.
Even I am using a assembled one and now planning to upgrade my RAM and Monitor.

I would surely have it customized for me . That way I would be most comfortable with my system as everything would be the way I want . An assembled computer is , undoubtedly , better than one right from the storehouse .
