my friend needs to get away from her stalker. what should she say?

Okay, so I have this friend who is quite popular in our batch because she's very smart and pretty. And recently, she asked me for help because she has a stalker in her class and she needs to know how to tell him politely that they can be just friends. This guy's crazy! He follows her around all the time, he constantly texts her at night AND even on the weekends, and now everyone knows it and making fun of him but he just doesn't care! I told her to look forward to the fact that summer's coming soon and she'll be away from him in two weeks for a full two months. But she's still worried and I can see why: I think that boy's in love with her. So now she's asking me what she could tell him to send him the message that she just wants to be friends. But, seeing as I haven't been in this situation yet, I didn't know what I would tell her. What SHOULD I tell her? Please help me.

This could be a potentially dangerous situation. I'm not sure if you are in highschool or college, but I'd approach your principal or head of security. Let them know what is going on so that you have a paper trail. Making fun of him may not be the best solution because if he indeed is a "stalker" he may be mentally unbalanced. You can have your friend go to the police department and file a restraining order, though in order to get one she needs to show that she is afraid for her life. Tell her to print out all emails and text messages for the police when she goes. Be well-Anora

Hi luvs2write. Your friend needs to inform her parents about the situation. They would definitely know how to deal with it. If the boy is indeed in love with her and starts courting her, she should not give him false hopes. She could just tell him that it's not the right time and that it's better if they just remain friends. I hope I was able to help. Happy mylotting and have a great weekend!
