Totally meaningless. parents don't understand english and don't know the right way and right time to start learning a foreign language. i've met so many parents desperately taking their kids everywhere to attend classes. after fact has proved that years later, the kids almost learned nothing, they learn fast and forget faster ! most of the kids can not express simple ideas using a full sentence. all they learn is baby tougue. therefore, i often advise friends or parents not to attend those classes at too young age.

There are numerous parents now who enrolled their children in "Learning English on line" because they themselves have difficulty in using such language. At an early age, a child must learn vocabularies, so that, later they can express their ideas in a very simple way. Adults who lack vocabularies have difficulty in expressing their ideas.

I assert that it is necessary to learn English, just like many English-speaking foreigners are learning Chinese. But I don't know whether it is beneficial to children to learn English early. I simply hope all of them will speak English fluently when they grow up.

i think its a good idea to start teaching pupils this language at a young age coz English is a global language,,children need to start learning how to interact with the world at large by studying this language at an early age,,,they can be able to fathom art, music and many other forms of humanity at an early age ,i do suggest that its very good to teach them this language at an early age......................

the earlier the better. since english is more and more important we should pay high attention to it.Especially that learning english is not so easy for our chinese. take myself as an example, I have studied english since I was in junior high school, plus the years, I've been studying english for almost 8 years, but my english is now not good enough specifically on oral expression. So I agree that primary schools in china should teach children english .

zao-shang-hao. i think since china and the u.s. are getting closer together on major issues it would be wise to teach them sooner then later. should it be mandatory ? no. they should have it as a sublect in school like we can take french, german, or spanish classes "if" we want to. great avatar, i have it on my arm.

English language is an international language wherein you can understand other people of different languages. To start teaching English language to children is good because they have fresh memory, and as early at that age, they can already understand reading or listening such language.

In my opinion, I think this is a good thing because those children in China will begin to pick up the language early. On the other hand, I also think that while this is a good thing, it's not a compulsory or mandatory move. I feel that even if they start to teach English at a later stage, children who have the interest and passion to master the language will still master it when the time comes. Like myself, I come from a Chinese background and English is my second language; however, I am determined to master the language despite only starting to learn English at 7 years of age, and I can confidently say that my English language skills is about average at the moment. I always hold fast to the notion, "If there is a will, there is a way"; no amount of force or pressure will help anyone to improve unless the passion comes from within.

I think it good because kids can learn and catch what we teach to them very fast. But do not be too much to learn English in other subject like our country. Our government never take care our languange national and let it lost by use many English in other subject.Languange is beautiful. We must keep and save our languange.Learn many languange is good and know many languange is better.

Yes, it is necessary. English as we all know is a universal language.Everybody has a goal in life and one of it could be to travel around the world. They may have thesame goal, whether she's/he's a chinese or a japanese, etc. Now, How can they achieve this goal when they are having a hard time interpreting the language? How can they travel around the world when they can not communicate in this language especially that lots of countries were already adapting the language as part of their school curricula. How pathetic it is if you would just travel in a country with no social interaction. This journey would be more fulfilling and happier if we know better speaking the language. Through it we may also meet new friends of different races. Besides, we need the language especially when we are faced in a serious situations (in other countries).
