I used to seel on Ebay but I stopped as I was going through a time when I was not selling much but I did find that if i had anything in the collectables line they would sell, if you search as a buyer under collectables just to see some of the things people collect and you can see what people are bidding on...you never know you might have some old things that you don't even know that some people will pay a lot for... one thing that happened to me was I bought some books at a garage sale for a $1 each then I put one up on Ebay called Footrot Flats unbeknown to me it was a rare annual one and I got about $300 for it...the bidding was going crazy....

I think everyone will have a different answer for this. Its best to sell things that you know and our familiar with. My Uncle for example knows a lot about antique rail road lanterns, he buys and sells, and makes pretty good money on them.
For me I used to sell Clothing. I know what brands are popular and what each one goes for so it was a really easy way to make money. In the summer of 2007 I used to make $200-$300 a month. I would shop at major department stores, find markdowns, and then resell the item on Ebay. Last year around Christmas time, I was only making about $50 a month because of the economy...people were no longer interested in designer clothes.

I believe the items that can be sold easily are t-shirts, cellphones and accessories especially if they are cheap.
