How many push ups can you do in a minute? Or, how many consecutive push ups can you do - at ALL? (And I mean the real deal, not "girl" or "half" push-ups).
For the job I want to get after college, there is a 1 minute push-up test, which I'm trying to prepare for (yes, three years in advance), and I'd just like to know where everyone is at, if you know.
Do you have a hard time doing push ups, too? Or is this just me? I can do about 7 before I feel like keeling over and dying. . How many push ups can you do?

On average itd be about 30, but Ive been known to double that, but you have to have the correct technique...breathe in when you godown, and then breathe out when u push-up...but also dont go too fast otherwise you ill brun yourself out too quick....

I can do 20 to 22 girl push ups and around 12 or 13 full push ups
I started doing it many years ago and at the time I couldn't even get to 5 girl push ups in one minute
I never push myself to do more push ups in one minute though
to me that is enough to do every morning when I wake up and then the rest is for my breathing and yoga exercise which I need the most because I have breathing problem since I was young

LOL Don't be embarrassed! 5 is a great number, I think it's normal for people who don't normally do that kind of exercise to not be able to do as many as some of the body-builders we have here on myLot. . Regular, every-day people don't really have any actual USE for doing push-ups, unless their job requires them to. Thanks for responding!

Hi maezee,
As being learner of stampede wrestler, i love this exercise.
but i dont count my push ups. but sure, i make 25 to 30 push ups slowly and more than 50 fastly. I usually give pressure by doing the exercise slow and steadily.for getting extra pressure, i always place my legs on 2 or 3 feet height on any material and start doing my push ups.
Congrats on your 1500 posts!

I am a woman but an athletic woman. I don't do half push-ups. I can do the push-ups that men do. I am not bragging. I have firm muscles on my abs.
I don't know how many push-ups I can do in a minute as its best to do with breathing exercises (inhale and exhale). I can make a maximum of 60 push-ups per day, thats it.

That's awesome!
I only added that bit about the "girl" push-ups because I know when I ask a lot of my (girl) friends, they always tell me that they can do "so-and-so many" GIRL/HALF push-ups. It's like..OK, that wasn't really what I was asking... I hate that they are nicknamed "girl" pushups too, it's annoying and se.xist.
I always considered myself "fit" from playing volleyball and being on track every year in high school, but apparently my arms haven't been getting the workout they need to do a million pushups in one minute. *shrugs*
But congrats on being able to do 60! That's something to be proud of.

I never timed how many pushups I could do in a minute. I used to a while back be able to do about 50-70+ total(not in a minute! hahha, I wish I could do'em in a minute.) before I kind of got wore out. Now, since i've been awfully lazy I doubt I could even do half of that anymore. I do plan on getting back in shape though, and soon!

I usually can do around 100 in one sitting, so I'm assuming about 30 or so in a minute, but I just tried, I did about 20 in the first 40 seconds, but I just got a tattoo on my chest like 2 days ago and my chest is already sore so I just stopped

actually after seeing your posting,i thought why not try now and see.
Though i had a good and decent meal, and already feeling my stomach tight i thought to go for it.
I put a timer for one minute in my cell and put it on.
Then i started doing the push-ups.And about 25 i got weary,my chest was straining.
i took a break for 3 or 4 seconds, with the timer still running, and then again did the push ups till 32 and again took a break, dont know how long, and again started doing the push-ups and LOL, the timer was ringing when i just finished 37 push ups with weary hand and paining chest.
but well i completed the 38th and fell down flat for a few seconds and back now to post here..
Beleive me i didnt make it up,and i am being honest.

If you are preparing for some sort of test.
start with doing 10 or 15 push ups a day, daily without missing for a month ,
then you will get accustomed to doing ten easily.
increase the count to 20 for the next month.
do this every month increasing the count.
I promise you that it will be a PIECE OF CAKE for you.
I really promise you dear.
Thats what i am doing now.I started with doing 30 for this month because i have been through a surgery recently forfracture to my nose and jaundice.
Do reply back..

i do this all within a minute only.
i am trying to increase my count daily.
hope i gave you a good reply.
this is the first time i am ever giving my reply so long since i joined MYLOT.
