I think that maybe the bible thumpers are not judging the person per se, I think they are judging the behavior. In the bible its mentioned that there is only one way to get to heaven so I think the bible thumpers are really saying "you aint gone get in heaven while you in your mess". they should teach rather than come at people in an accusatory manner, I think the bible thumpers intentions are good though.

To be honest with you, a Christian is a Christian and if they claim they are saved, they do not judge. But some who are not saved think they have the right to judge others, because they show as being saved. You know, those are the people with one foot over the fence. I personally believe if you are saved you DO NOT judge because you know that only God can judge. That is what is wrong with people today, they want to play God and no one can.

Thanks you. You gave the best response. I believe more people would come to Christ if the thumpers stop acting like saving grace started and stopped with their salvation. This is why people don't want to come to church. Pointing fingers are not going to bring folks to christ. Christ is coming back for the pure at heart. I post this questions and read other responses to improve my Christian walk, in hopes of improving my spirituality. There is one judge. Jesus is the author and finisher of our fate. Thank you for your input, it gave me food for thought. God bless!

I have to ask just what you are calling judgment? If you are talking about looking down a nose at someone because they are unsaved or really for any reason I agree. However the bible says that by a mans fruit you shall know him. I will give you an example of what that means to me.
I have an old friend who needed our assistance some time back. This person ended up abusing our good graces by coming for a visit then running out of money and pretty much having to stay at our home. We have 5 children and they have 5, 10 kids and 4 adults in a 3 bedroom home. Now we were a bit put off but we have always been willing to share whatever we could with anyone who needed it. Well after a month they recieved the money to get their own place and returned to the state they came from to get their things. (forgot to mention they were from another state) anyway when they returned they brought another couple and their 2 kids with them to my house without asking me! I lost it, but my husband had mercy and allowed them to stay until their place was ready, (utilites and such) Okay, I figure we havent seen each other in a long time this is just a difference in manners, no big deal. Until I caught this woman lying to me, several times and then her son stole from one of my sons friends. When I brought this to the mothers attention she said the other boy deserved it!
So am I being judgmental when I say her son is a thief and she is a liar? By these "fruits" I have decided to not pursue a close friendship with them, I wish them well and hope they find God, if they havent but I am not subjecting my home and family to them on a daily basis. Some have told me that is judgmental?

Thanks,I was talking about people who turn their nose up at the unsaved. You did what God required of you as a Christian and those individuals will be held accountable by God for abusing your kindness. The truth is the light, no matter what darkroom you stand in. A thief is a thief and a liar is a liar until God makes the transformation. I posted this discussion because we have people out their that are hungry for the Lord, but harsh approach by the "Bible Thumpers", who look down on them condemn them for how they are living, that is for The Lord to make the transformation, we are to deliver the message with love, kindness and compassion. Once upon time we were lost............did we forget. I am not with battling with other christians about if I am being judgemental in this discussion. Let's learn from others mistakes and improve our ministry.

Looking down on or dismissing someone who is unsaved is un-Christian. But determining that someone is unsaved and sharing with them their need for salvation is exactly Christlike. He did not leave the unsaved without an offer of hope. And the only correct way to point someone to Jesus is to use the Word He revealed to us, the Bible. We should follow His pattern and present the truth in love, but we should present and proclaim the gospel to all men, even though some will call it foolishness.

I keep hearing this stupidity from all christians that all human beings are Sinners. Shame on the christian god that he cannot create a pure human being. if man became a sinner, the fault lies with the creator. creator should take the full responsibility of creating a faulty creation. god judged man wrongly, since then he is trying to hide his mistake by blaming man for everything.
this god must be the greatest fool i have come across. if adam and eve committed a sin, then its their sin. it cannot be handed down thru successive generation for no fault of theirs. the whole thinking process itself is wrong, painting the whole mankind as sinners. the first sinner is god who was incompetent in creating. else he would have created a much happier, sinless humanity. he would not have created devil. surely this god must be the devil himself. devil loves to judge everyone except himself.

That's exactly who you are describing the devil! We are all born into sin and iniquity. Oh, and by the way GOD did NOT create the devil. GOD created Lucifer. Lucifer's name CHANGED once he was KICKED out of heaven. If you had a personal relationship with GOD the CREATOR you wouldn't dare talk about HIM as you have.
GOD bless you and peace be unto to you.

if god created lucifer and he changed his name later to whatever one wish to call - devil, satan or whaterver, does that change the evidence god did not create devil?
Let me clarify once more. NOBODY is born in sin. Atleast I am sure that I was NOT born in sin. I was born SINLESS.
Born in sin is a concept put forward to brainwash people. if you are happy being a sinner, so be it.
God has always blessed me, that is why I am sinless and i live in peace.

Well said, and again people shouldn't judge people that aren't saved. Because at one time they were not saved. I'm sure when they weren't saved, people weren't breathing down their necks and whatnot.

You can only speak for yourself as an individual. All christians first off are human, striving on a constant basis to be like Christ. Again, I am speaing from my experience, I can't talk about yours. Don't stone the messenger, grow from the message. That's Christ like, unconditional love:)

I believe it is human nature to look down on others when we feel we are doing something better than them. This could apply anywhere--parenting, living green, etc. This also applies to the Bible. If we feel we have better knowledge about it than someone else, or believe we are a better "Christian" than someone else, it is natural to pass judgement off on them.
Of course, that is never the right thing to do. We must pray for God's grace to overcome that sinful urge and "Love our neighbors as we love ourself."
