I've been trying to figure out what topics tow rite about to earn the most from. I assumed that you'd get most upfront payment from topics that'd get lots of views, like weight-loss and celebrity articles, as well as news articles. What do you guys think or have experience with?

my top performers are current events related. i did a news opinion piece and a shopping piece that were completely different but bot did well. the common thread is that they were both current events and on people's minds at the time. it is unlikely these will sustain long-term success, but they were hits when they came out!

Great topic. I hope you hear from a lot more people, because I would love to see what everyone has to say in response. For me, in the past one of my best selling articles was a year-end take on "people we love to hate." Right now, people seem to be obsessed with jobs, dealing with difficult bosses, and getting ahead. I've also done well with money saving articles, like how to save on your grocery bill and how to save on electricity. None of these are topics that I really like to write about, but there you have it. Which topics work best or you?

The article I wrote with the largest number of views is sports related and some months still receives over a 100 views. The articles I've submitted about online sites seem to do well. Some months those articles are viewed 200-300 times. Hobby related articles can be hit & miss. They'll garner lots of views one month and very few the next. I've done well with craft articles...they seem to be viewed on a steady basis. Great thread... interesting responses!
