YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He made us these Thai meatballs in peanut sauce with penne noodles. The meatballs themselves were just plain old meatballs made of the basic ingredients, but he cooked them in Thai peanut sauce in our slow-cooker, and made pasta separately, as he knows I like the sauce poured over my pasta, and not mixed with it. OH WOW those things were good. I ate so much I fell asleep while watching TV. LOL It takes a hell of a lot to fill me up, but these did the trick. I couldn't even finish my plate. There are only the two of us, so it didn't matter that we each out pur own leftovers back in the crock pot to keep them warm. LOL We're probably going to end up eating them for a midnight snack, or breakfast tomorrow.
OH MY GOD these were good. YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love meatballs, and I love thick sauces. He got me hooked on the Thai peanut stuff when we were in AZ. At a restaurant we liked down there they served it as salad dressing. That peanut sauce could probably be the base of a soup too. OH WOW it was good.

Well, my husband is a good cook too. He makes 90% of the dinners at our house. However he has never made peanut sauce! I have never had it with meatballs but it sounds delish. I have had peanut sauce with chicken at Thai resturants in Playa Del Carmen, never meatballs. And noodles........ I don't know how it could get much better. Would he be willing to share his recipe?

I will direct him to this discussion tomorrow, and perhaps he'll post his own myLot discussion with the recipe, and link it here.

Unfortunately, MyLot doesn't want you to post recipes and will delete the discussions. This has happened to me before. I notice that they only delete discussions right before the end of the month so that you don't make payout. It's frustrating to lose fifty cents just before the close of the month.

OK. Time for me to put the meatballs in the freezer and make a batch of potato soup. It's one of my all-time favorites, but I haven't made it in a couple of years. I used to make it all the time. I add celery seed to mine and for my individual bowl, I'll put in about 1/4 teaspoon of cayenne. Mine comes out almost like soupy mashed potatoes :)

Wow!~You are so blessed to have such a husband!~ HahaaI think my story is the other way round as my wife is also a very good cook who needs my convincing at times!~ HahahaShe's been cooking this Chinese dish ( so we are Chinese anyway, haha ), erm, it's a Nyonya dish actually. Nyonya is basically Eurasian - when the Portuguese colonized Malacca & they married the local Chinese ( who originally came from China ), haha, yes, very long history. Well, anyway, it's called "tau yu bak" which is in hokkien ( a Chinese dialect ). It's pork cooked in soya sauce with bean curd, pork, soya skin, Chinese mushrooms & pepper. Yummy!~ Can you imagine she's cooked it for 3 weeks straight!~ We've been having that for that long!~ Ahaha!~ Yummy!~ Tau yu bak, anyone? Haha~!

Wow!~You certainly have a lot of variety there in the market!~ It's really funny though that the food here in the hypermarkets can sometimes be cheaper & as fresh as the market. As for the Tau Yu Bak that my wife has been cooking, we have soup to go with it as well. Sometimes it's corn soup, somtimes it's fishball soup. And the Tau Yu Bak we have different types of bean curd which I don't really know hwat they call it in English, hahaBut in Hokkien it's called Tofu or " tau hu" to be more precised ( like the Japanese Tofu that's soft but it's without egg ), "tau kua" which is a bit more solid compared to tofu & rubbery; then we also have "tau pok" which is the spongy type that actually absorbs the gravySometime we fry the "tau kua" & sometimes we don't. So it's basically the same dish but prepared in different styles!~

That sounds great. I'm fortunate that there is a great Asian market only three blocks from the apartment that has absolutely great prices (cheaper than the supermarket). They carry food and ingredients from all over Asia, from Thailand through Vietnam to China and Japan. It is easier and less expensive for me to prepare Asian style food, but I try to vary what it is each day.

Hey there.....I am very happy for you. I have still yet to taste my husband's cooking though once he cooked tuna rice a rice cooker recipe. It was nice. But if one day he decides to cook up a storm in the kitchen, I am sure I would enjoy his cooking as much as you enjoyed your husband's. I am the one who does the cooking and he is the one who does the washing up later after our meal. It helps alot as I just have this crazy habit of getting very sleepy after having lunch !!And speaking of the chinese dish which we had for 3 weeks in a row - I just cooked it again one big pot this morning and we will be enjoying it as much about now !! Just resting after a busy morning .

do you know that they say that the size of the human brain is bigger in males than in females? that is why most achievers in every field is a male. that includes chefs. anyway, that is the reason maybe why they should be the ones bringing the bigger paycheck ;)

LOL You're kidding about the paycheck, right? I think women and men need to be paid equally for equal work.
I don't think a lot of guys use their full brains, Lucky for me, I married a GENIUS who does!!!

So they were a sort of satay? I love chicken satay, and meatballs sund ideal for coating in the sauce and serving with pasta. That's right about the salad... at my favourite Indonesian Restaurant, they serve chicken satay, on wooden skewers, placed on a bed of salad... mainly leaves, and it's delicious. It's served as second course of four.
Brightest Blessings.

The saying, "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" always made me think that women are aiming too high. Its good that your man takes care of you, since I'm a stay at home dad I've been doing more creating in the kitchen, no complaints yet, I'd cross my fingers but its hard to hold the spoon when I'm stirring. :)

Hi, I admire you, no, it's envy! OK I am really happy for you that you find such a great husband. I have always believed that if a man can cook good foods for his wife, he is a great husband. My bf told me he could cook when we were dating and then it turned he can just cook noodle, which is his favorite. OMG! I hate noodles. I have a roommate who cooks dinner everyday for his girl and I have been admiring his girlfriend for so long, lol. It's so sweet to have a yummy dinner after a day's work. especilally the lunch at work place is kinda awful. Happy for ya!

You are lucky to have a hubby good at cook and willing to cook. Most of the cook is done by wives, while the best by husband. That is on the air, which i doubt though. I like meatball, and also fish balls. We have a restaurant nearby, which only serves fishballs, and fish noodles. Customers chose the fish from a pond, and wait to have the fishball prepared, fresh and hot in a pot. Jest delicious, and can well go with vegetables.
