have you ever answered back your boss in a disrespectful way and regret it?

i really am hating my work and boss for the past couple of weeks. this morning, my boss called me to check on my presentation. he had changed the outline over and over again and this time, he's asking why a certain area was in there. what was i supposed to do, i just put in my presentation what i am told to do. and he said he did not like my response. i am really upset that i have always thought about resigning and i almost did before he fires me. for some reason, he calmed down and got over my "attitude", and moved on to a new topic but i have a feeling he will not forget that. i am not sorry for what i said to him but i am sorry for showing disrespect to a boss. =( so, do you have similar experiences and what have you learned from your experiences? thanks all!
