I know long time ago that my two eyes dont share the same level of eyesight.I used
to lie down on my left/right side and read in bed when I was in my teens.I guess most
people have this problem more or less. The problem is that my right eye cant see clearly within 2 meters while my left eye works quite well.Thats not very common.I dont wear glasses in daily life, nor do I need to do so.My eyesight is very good when they work together. You cant see any difference between my two eyes. But the secret was leaked out when I was having eye_test for applicating my driving licence this afternoon. It makes me very upset.Im thinking of having my right eye treated by laser or operated_ that frightens me.Or I just should wear proper glasses?
What do you think?I want my right eye normal!

If you have enough money to go for laser. It is up to you.But i think you can wear glasses to see clearly from the right eye.It is very safe.I also wear glasses all the time.If you think you want to hide it.Then you can wear contact lenses and no one will ever know you are wearing it.

I dont like wearing glasses.I wear glasses with no degree while Im in the front of computer at home. Some say laser for eyes may not work well if you are not carefully treated.Thats not I can afford.

Never try them before.I think it takes more time to wear contact lenses.I heard people say it hurts sometimes if you dont wear them perfectly.

I have a similar problem, I love reading and when I was younger I used to lie down on my side and read, predominantly to one side, then when I started having headaches when watching TV, reading or working on my computer I went to the optometrist and he said that when reading lying down the eye closest to the bed is mostly stationary and does not work as much as the other and basically becomes 'lazy' and this results in it having a different development in both eyes. I use glasses and have stopped reading in this position now I sit up in bed, the brain is amazing in that it compensates for the weakness and allows you to see.
If you have not gone to an optometrist, do so it may not be necessary to go through something as extreme as surgery, maybe you will be able to use glasses or contacts.
I hope you have a speedy solution.

Thanks for your responding. Now I still read in bed before going to sleep, but I sit up.So,I think both my eyes share the same amount of work.lol I hope nothing serious with my right eye.Maybe I really should wear glasses.

Maybe you should go to a doctor first. I think you may have what is called a lazy eye. I don't know if this is linked to the side you favored when you were younger though. And it's really nothing to be ashamed about. At least your left eye works perfectly. Anyway if you decide to get laser surgery it will be worth it. I have had both of my eyes treated and I feel so free now. :)

I wear glasses for reading, and I realized once that even with the glasses I was having a problem reading. I eventually stopped reading for that reason. When I went for my eye exam, I couldn't seem to pass the test, I actually had three tests. then some special drops were put into my eyes and it was determined that the optic nerve in my left eye was damaged. My vision was solely dependent on my right eye. If I close my right eye I basically see shadows out of my left eye. Glasses do not help much because of the optic nerve damage.
Maybe you have a similiar problem

I think an opthalmologist can give u a better advise on this issue. Both options are open to you and are safe. But i think you must not neglect this as any kind of infection in you one eye may effect your other eye also.
