Were you late today?

Yesterday we turned the clocks ahead an hour, as we do every spring for Daylight Savings time. This time change tends to mess up a lot of people, including myself.
This morning I woke up to the sound of my children's voices, as I do most mornings. Normally my kids are all awake around 6am, so usually there's no reason to fear. However this morning when I looked at the clock, it was already 8am. None of my kids had showered because we woke up so late (we've been having water issues which is why the didn't shower last night as they're supposed to). My oldest had even missed his own bus which comes at 7am. Luckily though, the way our schools are, there's an elementary school right next to the middle school. My twins' bus goes to that elementary school first, before going to theirs (it's split up K-2 in one school, 3-5 in the other). So my oldest was able to ride the bus to the elementary school instead of being driven in.
Were you late today due to the time change? Has it done anything to mess up your usual routine?

As a wonderful twist of fate, one that I didn't truly appreciate until yesterday morning, I was actually scheduled off from work today. So I didn't even have to worry about trying to make it to work on time, or worry about the fact that I had lost an hour of sleep. I still set my alarm though, which my family thought I was crazy for, because if I sleep too long it will mess up my sleeping schedule for the rest of the week.

Yes, we were late today, but I don't think it was caused from changing time. It was because I hit snooze, which I rarely do, but did and ended up sleeping right threw the buzzing, as well as everyone else did in the house. I hate being late. My son finally made it to school at 9 am this morning, whoops.

You overslept because you lost an hour on Sunday. So your body is still compensating for the time change. That's what happened to us.

No, we were not late, but I'm really dragging this morning and I think it is because my body thinks it got up at 5:30am instead of 6:30am. My brain may be able to get up by the clock, but it will take the body longer to adjust to these time changes. Is it nap time yet?

I can't believe how fast the day is going. I feel like I've just sat down for my usual morning coffee, which I'm done with by 9am, and next thing I know it's lunch time!!

My son was out the door on time this morning, but my 2 year old just woke up and it is 10 am. She did not sleep very well last night, but I don't think it was cause of daylight savings time. Her nose is all stuffy and she is coughing, so it made for a restless sleep.

Yeah, it is the season for colds. Thankfully we're over ours, and hopefully we won't get them back anytime soon.

I was lucky because my kids didn't have school this morning. But, because of the time change everyone's schedule is really whacked out. No body was tired last night at bedtime, including me. I think we were all up past 11. My husband had to be up at 6...he probably feels like a zombie. I had to get up this morning to make sure the kids didn't sleep in too much or they would never want to go to bed tonight. The time change can be an adjustment but I love this time of year....it gives the kids so much more play time outside.

My kids stayed up until about 9pm last night, and it was difficult trying to get them to sleep, which is why we all slept in. It will take a bit of adjusting. You're right, I do enjoy it being lighter later.

I usually don't let anything mess up my schedule. I have a horror of being late. So I'm always up 3-4 hours before I need to be. I like having a buffer zone!

I could not do that. I'm not a morning person at all! I like my sleep.

Our clocks have not changed yet, I know it happens this month sometime but not sure when think it might be the next weekend or the last weekend of the month. I expect that it will probably mess us all up as I am going to be losing an hour of sleep! I think out of us all it will probably be my youngest that will be affected the most by the time change.

We changed all our clocks before we went to bed. Some of our clocks reset themselves so that makes it easy. My husband changed a clock in the bathroom and I forgot about it. When I looked at it I thought "how did it get to be so late already?" LOL. I forgot it was set ahead an hour lol.

Oh yes I was late today but I dont think it was due to the clock change. I set the alarm normaly for 6 am and hit snooze 2 times but today I shut off the alarm and said I will get up in ten minutes. I rolled over and it was 7:11 am and I have to be at work at 7:30am I freak out. Was mad. Called worked told them I was running late.
