When I got out of my secondary school, I stop relying on teachers. I prefer self study rather than listening to them wholly. Some things are not mentioned by the instructors so my learning becomes limited when I just listen to them. Self study also teaches me more about things that are not related to my field so I become very flexible and able to help other people in their problems.

It actually is the fault of the curriculum or the teachers themselves. If they have done their jobs and be facilitators instead of being 'teachers' then students would have been using their creativity and minds rather than just following orders.
I don't know about you, but that's what our teachers had been doing all my time in school. We actually do everything, they're just there to facilitate and to instill information when things need more clarifications. They even create activities so we could work as teams or could express ourselves better.
