I have a really wierd habit if when I lock a door I check to see if it really locked. This does not matter if it is my home, work, office, or even my car. I do not know when it started but i have been doing it forever, anybody else?

I think it is not weird and I believe that it is just right and what you are doing is making sure that everything is in order. It is always wise to double check something than to suffer and be sorry in the end.

I am not quite so sure because no one gets back to me and told me about it. But I know someone who have done it before and luckily she uses Firefox.

I find myself doing that sometimes. Usually it's almost always when I'm in a rush, or have a zillion things on my mind. I think when we do it so much, it just becomes a subconscious habit. I find myself doing the same thing sometimes with 'did I leave the iron on?!"

You are right it does feel very subconscious and that is why I brought it up, iwas hoping i was not alone and atleast i know now there are people doing the same thing. This does not mean were are all not crazy, it just means there is more than just one.

Yes, I do the same. I just like to make sure that I locked a door properly, in order to try and prevent any type of accidents. It's really become a habit over the years. Especially since, in high school, I was always the last one to leave the house, and the first one to come back home.

Well at least if you left it open you were going to be the one to find out. Unless of course they took the living room furniture that would be tough to explain. Thanks for sharing

I always double check too. The biggest reason I do so at home is because last winter the new weather stripping on the door was a little too bulky and it prevented the door from shutting properly. We came home a few times to a wide open back door. Ever since I always try the knob and give the door a shoulder to make sure it's locked AND shut!

I'm bad with rechecking a door that I happen to know is locked. I guess it's just a nervous habit and a lot of people do that sort of thing. They check the door even though they know it is locked. I just like knowing, even if that means I have to double check that the door is locked. It makes me feel much more comfortable.

Yup, I often do this. When I lock my car by remote, I have to check the doors to make sure that they are locked. I walk through the house every night, to make sure that all the windows and doors are locked, even those that we hardly open.

This is something I learned in myLot and later confirmed when watching CSI New York (LOL) That's called "Checking". It's an obsessive compulsive reaction - you may have light case of it :D It's when you check if the locks are on, the lights are off, everything is in place even though you yourself fixed everything :D Thanks for the response on my discussion!

Yes I do it,I pull the door thrice and see if it is properly locked. I think there is no harm in doing. It is better to confirm than repent later.
