Thank goodness for smoke detectors!

Have you ever not taken your own advice? Just the other day I advised a friend of mine here to use a kitchen timer so that her water doesn't boil dry and then today I didn't follow my own advice! I heard the smoke alarm going off and went to the kitchen to find a dry pan on a red-hot burner! I also read a post last night about a pork roast by Grandpa Bob and it reminded me to take my roast out of the freezer. I fully intended to do so but then got busy on something else and only remembered this morning to do it! Well, I have some frozen dinners so one of them will be my dinner. I'm so absent minded and easily distracted these days! Have you ever not followed your own advice, especially after you've just dished it out to someone? What was the result?

Oh this has happened so many times with me. I had advice my friend not to get nervous during her speech and then got cold feet just before my turn came. Its so damn embarrassing. One of my friend always use to be late for the first class and I had asked her why not get up early if you are slow and now I am unable to reach on time most of the days! So we all are there to accompany you.Have a nice day!

You're funny! I love your avatar, too. The blue eyes are very striking when I go to your profile page. It's so much easier to give advice than to take it.

Thanks for appreciating. In between all these economic traumas and the gloomy tensed faces of my parents I have planned to keep smiling always and now enjoy being funny.Have a nice day!

Why is it that when I DO remember something I've forgotton to do, I'm always so far away from it? I keep forgetting to get bread out to defrost, but I only ever seem to remember when I'm over at the farm - 20 minutes walk away. Why does my brain never kick into gear as I walk past where it's stored?! Thank you for the reminder about smoke alarms though. Truly, they are something I keep kicking myself about then promptly forgetting again. We have a wood burner so they really are something I should sort out asap.

At least I remembered to change the batteries in the smoke alarms! Mine goes off for no reason-a lot! Well, there's a reason but it's usually when I bake or make toast. I have to write myself notes. Trouble is, I keep forgetting to read them!

Hiya Dragon, Of course I have dished out great advise and have neglected to follow it myself. I am much better at dishing things out to others. LOL The latest incident of this was last Friday night when Ghost Whisperer was about to come on. I had popped the popcorn and we got our sodas and were preparing to settle down to watch one of our favorite television shows. I could not find the remote anywhere; it was gone. We looked and looked and finally turned the television set the old fashion way - by hand. After the show, I was asked when the last time I had it was and to look there. Well, about 2 hours later I found it when I came into my office. There it sat at my desk and then I remembered putting it there when I took a call earlier that day. I had full intentions of bringing it back out with me, but got distracted and started doing something else. The not so funny part of this is I had just gave the speech about putting things away when you are done with them so they can be found easy for when you need them next, to my partner, Thursday night. Needless to say, I took some razzing and teasing on Friday night. One thing to remember, is we teach best what we most need to learn. lol

Ha! Yes, I've done that myself! It was maddening when I was married and finding the remote was next to impossible. I tried to keep it in one place but the two kids and husband didn't cooperate. I would preach at them, as you did, then lose it myself.
