generate more flow

I was wondering if anyone could give me advice on how I could generate more people flow on my blog. I have had the blog up for about a month now. I am updating it regularaly and I am not getting the people flow I would like. I would love to pass on my frugal ways with others in hopes of helping others out during this tough economic situation. I am not sure if there is other ways to get the word out about my blog, that are free, since I am make no money off the site, nor do I intent to. thanks in advance.
