I'm a paperback girl myself. What do you like better? And why? For me, it's something about it not being quite as heavy and being a little more compact. What about you? (And yes, I understand this isn't really a dicussion-worthy question. lol).

Paperback, they are easier to read, easier to travel with and fit in my purse...LOL and easier to fit on book shelves.. well mine anyway...I have several books and I dont want to give them up, I have them in boxes under my bed, on top of my bookshelf and there were on my dresser for a while...but I pick mostly paperback... if I cant wait for it to come out on paperback then I will get the hardcover, there fore I have about 3 in hardcover. LOL

It's a very good question! For me... well I'm a book freak, one of the selling features on my home was the HUGE built in bookshelf! For most books that I intend to keep around a long time I choose hardback. But, then if I find a very good reference, self help, or something along those lines that is paperback, I'm not going to turn it down just because it's paperback! But, when it comes to my romance novels, I like paperbacks exclusivly for those because it's so much cozier and like you said, compact. I can toss my latest into my purse and be on my way! I can stay up all night in bed reading one without having to shift around to much to get comfy! And I don't feel too back about throwing them away when I'm done. I sure don't like to toss them, but I have a huge collecting problem and I have to get over it. I'm thinking about saving them now and selling them at the community yard sale in about 2 months. Haha, I'm so weird though, I'll probably sell them for like a penny each just to get rid of them and have some kind of change to show for it!

LOL, I'm actually doing the exact same thing! I've been saving up my old books for a while, now, and once spring comes (and the weather is nicer), me & my friends are having a giant yard sale. Good luck with yours! (And wish us good luck too). . Thanks for responding!

For most books I like paperbacks. Easy to carry, less room to store (I have a lot of books). But for books I am going to read again and again I like a hardback because I tend to destroy paperbacks of books I read multiple times. Its actually cheaper in the long run for me to buy a hardback then to rebuy the paperback many times.

i choose hard covered books coz its easier to maintain sometimes books with hard covers are heavy, my friends will have second thought of borrowing it. hehehe but im not choosy, i also love reading paperback books coz it cheaper than the hard cover one. but for my collection i choose the hard cover. :D

You're totally right! Paperbacks are usually MUCH cheaper than hard covers (which is pretty weird). I agree, for collecting purposes, I think hard covers are worth more and look more presentable, but for everyday use, paperbacks seem easier to handle. Thanks for responding!

If its a good book, I wouldn't mind having it in hard bound. Mostly, I like books that I often use hard bound so that they would last longer. Then again, it depends on how the book is used which makes it last longer or not. A very used book is rather attractive than one which hasn't been open at all.. Your right on paperbacks being compact and convenient compared to hardbound ones. Then again, its really a matter of choice. I would even consider giving a hardbound book as a gift than a paperback copy of the same title. It kind'a emphasizes things a bit.

Hi Maezee, it's always paperbacks for me. It's lighter, cheaper and takes up less space. I often lie on the sofa/bed to read; so can you imagine how heavy a hardcover book is!

I'm a paperback girl too! I'm actually waiting for the 3rd Twilight book to come out in paperback, haha. And the wait is killing me but will be well worth it when I have a lighter book. I like how paperbacks are lighter and easier to hold in your hand. Paperback fit in my purse better too. I also agree that their better for the bathtub! haha
