How do you make money online?

Of course there are many ways to do so, but which ones actually make you money? HYIP's? They don't work for everyone, most call them scams anyways. Cyclers? I've never had any luck with them and I've been on a few of them. It's not worth it especially when you haven't cycled in a year on one line. PTC's? Sure, some are successful, I've been paid by many sites, but most of them have shut down. Waiting for $525 from one site isn't an easy thing to do, but I have patience and faith that the money will be paid. The owner is good for it when the income starts flowing again. Others aren't worth the effort as they've been proven to be scams. Paid posting? Yeah, it works, but not if it's a puny web forum. Something like myLot is successful, it wouldn't be online for over 3 years if it wasn't. I've been paid a couple of times, but I haven't been as active as I'd like to have been, so that's why I haven't been paid much. But, at least it pays and still does. Social Networking sites? Don't know about this as I haven't had much luck with this either. I've been a member of one and not made much at all, a couple of dollars in the last year. Not worth it and I don't go there often. My referrals clearly hate it as they're not active either. Surveys? Pay a fee to do this? Ha, why should I? You don't pay your boss to let you work, why should you pay anyone else to let you work? I've never once been paid from any survey sites. I've been a member of some for years. It's useless. Paid email? Same sort of thing. It's not generally worth it unless you have referrals who are active. Unless you get the emails, you don't make any money. It's really not a money maker. Matrix or Cash gifting? Pfft, sure, only if you know people who are willing to pay. You also need to watch your back with your local tax man. I know someone who did cash gifting, made just over $11k, and the government is after him for it. He's under the tax limit, but they're still trying to get him. So how do you make money online? Does anyone know? Because I can't really figure it out. If I tally up my payments over the years, I've probably only made about $500. So?
