Hi xlinzixx, these days, my suggestion is to reformat the hard drive and use Windows instead of Linux. If the person who sold you the laptop had installed Linux as an additional operating system, then at boot up, it will give you an option to start either Linux or Windows operating system.
Linux is good as it is similar to Unix but user friendly.....I would say Windows operating system would be more powerful in terms of personal use.
Good luck and have fun with your new laptop.

The BIG question is which Linux version are you using? (Ubuntu, Red Hat, Xandros, Debian, etc...) You should be able to find a version of itunes that will work. If not there are plenty of similar programs geared toward linux, just have to make sure they will work with the version you have. Installing them can be a little tricky if you are new to linux though. I just got a new netbook, the eee pc, it came with linux. Only problem is the version on it, a modified xandros, really sucks, so I switched to pupeee linux.
Good Luck!
P.S.- Nice profile pic....
