What will you do at the occasion that you must drink?

I'm the one who can't drink any beverage with alcohol. But I always meet some occasion that I must be present at the dinner. Most of the others older than me, or be in higher position than me. In the culture of China, I should go afront of them one by one, to meet and drink with them. But I have no ability of that. What will you do if you meet the occasion?

It is really a problem. Do you mean that you can't drink even a little?
Hehe... My father also can't drink, but sometimes he will drink a little with my mother. Because he holds the idea that drinking a little per day is good for health.
We have to admit that sometimes even though we are unwilling to do something, but... So try to adjust to it. Then try to practise your drinking skill.

Thanks for your advice and response. I have almost been practising for 6 years when I was an undergraduate and graduate student. I think I have no hope on this. But I'm confident that I can be competent for most social communications.
Any way, it's a valuable words as you said "adjust to it". Thanks again.
