What it takes to be the People's Hero?

i watched the news last night and one of the segments featured a tireless advocate of literacy for the slums... he was proclaimed as the CNN hero and was interviewed by Larry King himself through the net. his program is a mobile library that seeks children and out of school youth which can't afford to have a formal education in the school. although his 'push cart' mobile library is a tiny speck of hope amidst the crisis that the Filipinos are facing these days, his ingenuity in rendering service to his countrymen is second to none. the particular person created ripples of hope to the people... he have send the world waves of hope...

i think he became the people's hero because even though he is not from a better off economic state than those he's helping he still tries to help. and he does whatever he could to help. he shares what he has. and what he shares is more than knowledge that would serve those students in the long run. he shares / gives an inspiration that no matter who you are, where you are, what you have as long as you do what your heart tells you to do there's a lot in store waiting for you.
