i was in Boracay, the world famous whitesand beach in the Philippines last month. the then tranquil and majestic island is now a concrete complex of resorts and recreational areas. the noise of iron drill thumping against the ground and the queues of construction of buildings to urbanized the island are not stopping... there is a plan by the government to develop the untouched side of the island, to urbanized it for the investors and developers to build their concrete masterpieces... are you in favor of these changes?

I know that Boracay Island is the most popular tourist destination in the Philippines. A few decades ago I am sure it must have looked like paradise. However all the tourist development has made the island have lots of buildings. Yes, it does sound quite urbanized. I do hope that the government halts development of the untouched side of the development. I love to see thatched beach huts and not fancy resorts. I would visit Bohol Island if I go to the Philippines which I plan to one day. I hate high tower blocks blocks by the beach. In Hawaii the North Shore is unspoilt and Waikiki beach is full of tower blocks. In Australia the Gold Coast has lots of tower blocks. These places have been ruined by their popularity of tourism. In Bulgaria I heard building work going on and ugly new development. I preferred the historic village by the sea I went to. However it does have Golden Sands and Sunny Beach full of touristy shops and apartments.

I have heard of those changes from the news. I am not in favor of those. I can't rest if there are constructions with the area...I just moved lately to a new place, I used to live near a univeristy that has an on-going 24/7 construction... It really pisses me usually at night when they make very loud noises.

another no for the governmetns plans. The government is continiously deteriorating the natural beauty of our seas and lands. The locals should not favor to it.They should do something to avoid this.If the government claims that tourism and jobs will increase if their product will pursue, well, the locals can devise of a way to increase tourism and jobs without harming and destroying the natural beauty of their place. I really am not in favor for this development.
