daylight saving

i'm from the philippines. i really don't know anything about the daylight saving time concept. i want to find out. everybody seems to be aware of it and others hate it. even the model of my cell phone has this thing. it ruined by cell phone's time.
i find the daylight saving concept very interesting. why is it done? why don't we have it here?

Hi! I am also from the Philippines and never thought of daylight saving. And now I am currently living in Egypt and they do have the same thing here, they put the clock one hours advance from the normal time. I remember last summer it's actually 8 at night but the sun still shines like its just 5-6pm and I think that's reason why its done and that's why we don't have in our country. I don't know much about daylight saving, but here's the link.

Yeah,this really confuses me too. I know the concept but to me it seems very pointless. And confusing.

Lolz....its really a funny bjut interesting concept.
every year in USA, during a certain time, they used to keep their watch one hour behind than the normal time. This year they did it on mar 08, 2009. The main reason is that it makes them feel that they are working less...lolz...arriving home and looking at the clock in summer and it shows 5pm..its kewl while usually its 6pm.....lolz...
Good, this concept must be introduced everywhere...
