some say that washing clothes with warm water may be cleaner than with cold water. today, i watch a tv program claiming that cold water washing is as effective as warm water washing, and it saves more electricity. I have seldom washed clothes with warm water. have you ?

Never in my life did i washed clothes with warm water. I don't seem to get the same effect of using warm and cold, they are still water and the only difference is temperature, not clothes getting whiter. It may sound like crazy , but i guess people might think that when you washed clothes using warm water, they may kill the bacteria more, but hey, what is the use of the detergent powder if the clothes will not be protected? But for sure, i may save electricity and effort by just using the tap water, cold one, no heating it. Happy Mylotting!

I wash mine with cold water and I wouldn't use warm water because I am not sure if that would be a good idea for the fabric. I think cold water is safer and from what I remember, I don't remember using warm water at all to wash my clothes.

In fact it depends on the material of the clothes. For example, perhaps it's better to wash the wool by warm water. However, we always use cold water to do the laundry because it won't cost extra electricity fee. I love China

cold or warm water depends on the types of cloth for the white shirts or clothes I prefer to use warm water but for the coloured clothes I use normal cold water only..

Sometimes using different powder soaps & oxy clean products need warmer water to disolve correctly. I was using oxy clean with cold water, and was wondering why it wasn't working. I thought I got jipped again, until I used hot water at first just to disolve it. Also I wash my bath towels in hot water, and dont't use fabric softner on them. No fabric softner helps them absorb water better! But another tip for disolving powdered detergents is get a small amount of hot water in the bottom of the washer just to dissolve evrything then switch it back to cold!
