Do you still miss the place where you came from?

I was born in the province and just continued my studies that's I started to look as if a city boy. Nowadays I realized there's no really place like home. I really miss the clean air, fresh environment, green surroundings and fresh fruits and vegetables. The most important thing that I miss is having just a simple life in the province. If I would be going to choose where I could live nowadays I would really prefer back in my hometown being a simple man with a simple living. How about you guys, do you like living forever in places you're not really from there? Share your ideas, let's talk about it...

Hello mobhomeir! We almost have the same situation. I was born and raised in our province too. Then I came here in Davao to study. I just came there last Christmas, but like you, I miss the clean air in my hometown and the green surroundings. I also miss the simplicity of life there. I will be leaving the country hopefully but won't leave forever. I will eventually go back and would want to die there.

I miss my province when i grew up and would like to spend my life there someday. Like you , i miss the fresh vegetables and fruits especially the smell of pineapple that is just located very near to our house, a natural scenery that makes me feel calm and relax. I miss the neighbors in which we share the foods even without any occasions, the fresh flowers in the front yard and vegetables in the backyard, to go to our home town clean park every Sunday, to have a coffee in a place where nobody will look at you head to foot and speak my own dialect...Oh, these are the things that i miss so much and hopefully it can be happen again when reach age of 50's.

I have always missed the places I left. It was always a sad part leaving a place that I love and the true friends that I had. It was a slightly difficult life for me because during my younger years, every after four or five years, our family leaves every place we live. Imagine how hard it was for a very shy child like me. And everytime we leave is a much more difficult situation for me. It was hard adjusting to a new environment and new people around specially in school. I have been to four schools in my elementary, three schools in my high school and two schools in college. It wasn't much of a happy schooling. I became an introvert. But it's okey, I helped myself and learned to deal with it as time went by. I wanted permanence, and here I am with permanence. Good day!

Yes because you had different life from the common people while at your younger age. I think that's one of the reason why you did not settle down with a husband that having same fate with your father..( maybe I'm wrong hehehe)thanks sister..

Yes I always do. And if I can find time to visit there I really go. Because it seems that there is a pressure pulling me to go back there always. I guess because of some fond memories or friends that I cherish before. Or we just can't totally leave behind the memories when we were still there.

I have the same case with you. I was born in the province and practically live there until i finished my high school. Then, i decided to have my college here. Since, i became a college student and seldom went home because every summer i have to complete my internship and my other breaks are not enough to enjoy the province. I really miss everything there, my family, friends, the environment, as well as the fresh fruits and vegetables as well as the fresh fish that was just caught by a nearby fishermen. Given the chance, i may return to the province after graduation because the cost of living there is not as expensive as the cost of living here in the Metro.

I don't have a province, I grew up in the city same place where I was born. Been to some provinces but still I prefer to live in the city. Going to provinces is fine with me for a vacation but to settle is a no-no for me.

There's really no place like home. i sure do miss my home, and my country. considering all the negative impact and hearsays (which some of them are true), i still would love to settle in my hometown or in the philippines for that matter. it's not ambiance that i miss, its more of my friends, my family, everything that's in our place. i may not like it sometimes, but that's where i want to be. :)

Yup, I miss my province because it is where I was born and grow up. My parents and siblings with their respective families are also living there up to now. If given the chance or better opportunities I would not hesitate to go back there. Though its very compicated now since I already have my own family and we already established a small business and a permanent job here in the city.

I do. I miss the pine scented air, the cool summer breeze and the chilly winds on the -ber (September to December) months. I also miss the river we used as a swimming pool during summer and the kite flying on the school ground. But most of all, I long to see my long-time childhood friends who are doing very good in their chosen careers. I do hope I can really go to my birthplace on the near future.

Hi mobhomeir,i also miss the place where i came from, because just like you i also born in province which is very silent place and the life is very simple. I really misses the place that there was a tree where you can rest with to feel comfort especially when the tree leaves is blocking the heat of the sun. Well most of Filipino loves to get rest in some of kind of silent places which gives a very solem and peaceful nature. . . Well that's all my response to your forum topic discussion entitled "do you still miss the place where you came from?". Happy posting and happy earning! ! ! Good luck to our earning career. . .

Of course, I think many people prefer their hometown . But in China, unevenly developing is a reality. Some our parents want us studying hard and go out to work in the big city, if hometown can offer enough working chance and good future, I think we all don't want to go so far from home. I miss my hometown very much.
