In my experience, the most common reason for this message on any site really is that one hasn't typed in the email address correctly. As an IT trainer I have seen many people do this, insisting that they have got it right, so there's no need to feel foolish if you discover this is the problem! A valid email address has no spaces in it and it must consist of a username, the '@'symbol and a domain name consisting of 'domain.com' or 'domain.co.uk' (or another country code). I have found that the commonest mistakes (other than ordinary mis-spellings) are to put commas in place of points/full-stops, to put a full-stop directly after the address, to use something else in place of the @ symbol or to not give the complete address afterwards (somebody@gmail will not work, for example!) If you are quite sure that you ARE putting your email address in correctly, then there must be a general problem with the site and the way it is checking emails. Is it possible that you signed up to the site before using the same email address, for example?
