March is the second month since I started writing a month ago. Aiming to reach minimum payout of $25 in Helium this month. It is probably a bit too ambitious, since many new writers take a few months to reach that amount. But no harm to aim for it, at the very least, having a lofty goal will prevent me from getting lazy.
This is the second month in Mylot too, hope to reach minimum payout by end of this month too. Already halfway there, should be able to make it.
Full steam ahead! Please support and give me a kick whenever the "spirit is unwilling and flesh is weak" symptom sets in. Thank you very much.

Let's work hard this month and reach payout together. I also aim to reach 500 posts, so that copy and paste function is activated. Sometimes want to post some comments about certain authors, without cut and paste, there's a risk that I get the name spelt wrongly.
Still a long way from 500 posts, hopefully can reach it within a month.

Hi, look like we are in the same boat. I hope to reach payout at Helium, AC and mylot this month. Am working very hard now. Within 2 months, I have 32 articles in Helium, 27 in creative writings. I need to get 3 more articles in before the end of the month to earn another writing star.
Well, let's work hard and we shall enjoy the fruitage of our hard work soon.

I have been writing for a long time on Helium, but just in the past couple of months, I have been doing it consistently. And I have really seen a difference. For the past two months, I have made payout. Before it would have taken me many months, so this really showed me that I need to concentrate and be active to benefit. Just coming and going when I felt like it made payout nearly impossible.
I've also learned a lot more about Helium and how to do better with ratings and making cash. And I am still learning. Part of the problem is that I like to write about art history, but not many people like this topic. If you write about jobs and career advice, you do much better, for example. So I try to balance out the topics.
Good luck with your writing. What topics do you do best with on Helium?

Hi Art, ironically I'm in the HR field, yet seldom submit to jobs and career topics. As this is the only the second month since i started writing and submitting articles, I am still in experimenting stage. Those few articles submitted fell into a broad categories.
Right now, I focus more on submitting articles to earn upfront payment, another 3 more articles to secure 2 writing stars, so that upfront per article will be $1.

I wish you success with Helium. I joined a year ago and I first reached payout after a few months. Since then I have been paid by Helium every month.
It does take a lot of participation and effort but it is worth doing if you enjoy writing. I now have enough articles earning money every day to reach payout each month, even if I did not write anything new.
I have rating stars and writing stars and I submit around 20 new articles each month, so I get nice upfront payments too. I also write articles for the Marketplace. Those make up the biggest part of my earnings at Helium, but in months when I don't sell anything, I still earn a nice amount.

Good luck with Helium. Let me know if you do and how you do it. I have been trying to find a way to increase my earnings there. I can't seem to get and keep the writing stars. I get the stars in the middle of the month and loose them before the end of the month. LOL.

I guess maintain a writing star is not that difficult. Just write to some very competitive titles. 3 days ago, I submitted an article to a title which had 87 articles. My little "baby" managed to rank all the way to the top. Now that title has only 84 articles, not sure why 4 articles disappear. Hopefully it will stay on top till the end of the month. Because of this baby and another baby also in a very competitive title, my writing score jump from 82% to 89%.
So I guess the trick is to find those very competitive titles and write to it. Write a very high quality article so that it will stay in the top 10%.
In the first month, I wrote a few articles in those titles with less than 10 articles. The writing score became as unstable as stock market. I guess partly due to the fact that I added article almost every day, plus the fact that writers leapfrog their articles, so my "babies" jumped up and down the ranking.
I also noticed that those articles in very competitive title were very stable. I mean, an article ranks 29 out of 188 can't go very far down, and drag the writing score down.
Good luck with your writing star, dont let it drop to 0 by the end of the month.

Hi, welcome to mylot. Just a tip, try to write at least 5 to 7 sentences in a post. Those who write one-liner find that even 100 posts of one-liner dont earn much. If you can consistently post 7 liners, whether in a new discussion or comments, you will see your earnings increase.
If you have a lot of active referrals, they can help you reach payout faster. All my referrals are not active, so sad.
