I'm just wondering guys, what's your job? How do you earn? As for me, I'm an insurance and investments agent. Been so for several years. I do that part time, and I also have small part time jobs with my father's company ~ I market the company's services and products at the same time manage people with a publishing company as well. Come school year, I've also taken some part time teaching jobs. What about you?

Hi laydee I've stopped working more than 5 years ago. The time when I got pregnant with my first child. But before that, I was a contractual Nutritionist-Dietitian at the Lung Center of the Philippines. I got to work for a few months and I loved my job. I've always wanted to work in a hospital setting and it was a dream come true for me. Unfortunately, because I was only hired to temporarily replace the Dietitian who was on Maternity leave, by the time she was ready to go back to work, it was goodbye for me. But I'll always treasure my short working experience at that hospital. It was scary at first, because I was a newbie. But when I got the basics of the job and handling the patients designated diet recommendations, I loved it! I still want to go back to my old job someday. But with a young son and my 2nd child to be born in a few weeks time, I'm guessing I still have to dream on.

You can actually practice what you've learned to your children. What better way to serve than our kids. But of course, a full-time mom isn't a simple job.

I am a stay at home mother. I have 4 kids living here full time at the moment. Then I have another here part time. Between me and my husband we have 8 kids. Not long ago my husband had been diagnosed with a disibility and he can no longer work. So then the government told us that they did not want me to work as it would just cost too much to havethe kids in daycare. His disibility does not allow him to be alone with the kids.

Hi lisa, I am a stay-at-home mom (for the most part) and have my husband at home a lot more than if he worked for someone else (we own a landscape maintenance company). I was just wondering how you manage to both be home without pulling out your hair and getting bored of each other. Any tips?

I'm a customer service rep for a top Insurance Agency/Mutual Company/ Bank. I work on the bank side, where we only are a virutal bank. I'm in an inbound call center. I'm thinking next fall of supplementing with being a sub TA in my district once a week. I also do a couple of survey sites and mylot to earn money for Amazon.com and dance lessons.

How's the Customer Service Rep job these days? I'm supposing customers have a lot of queries with their investments and such, how are you doing it so far?

People are nervous, but we are a conservative bank and while we took a loss, we're still rates very highly. Mostly I answer questions about "Are you taking bailout money?" and the answer is no, we aren't. And then I encourage people to save their money in one of our CD's.

I'm in my 41st year as a high school English teacher, and I still love it! I also do some writing, a bit of editing for a publisher, and I'm working on another documentary.

Wow! That's amazing! By the way, based on your 41 years of teaching, what 'changes' have you seen students over the generations? Have they become better students (due to computers and such) or not quite?

All in all, the kids are much more technology-savvy, but they don't make the good use of it that I'd hoped for. There's a lack of curiosity, because they can just go online when they want to know. They often just turn in smething they've downloaded rather than use the information to create something original. And we're seeing the unfortunate result of all that self-esteem building that forgot about earning it -- they're rude and arrogant, and they don't even understand that they're acting improperly. Their parents often lie to cover up for their misbehavior or skipping classes, so they honestly believe honesty and integrity are things of a past age. I hope the pendulum will swing back before long. I still love them, and they know better than to lack respect while they're around me, even if they do think it's only because my hair is gray!

I am a customer service representative for a health insurance. I am in the claims department and gets to work with billing agents. This work is tiresome and very stressful. You get scolded for things you don't have a hold to, like claims getting unpaid. I have part time jobs as well. I work in my mom's business.

That's really tough, having to face (well in this case 'listen) to customer's qualms and hot heads for something you have no control of.

I'm a preschool teacher. I was teaching in preschools, but I've been doing it from home for over a year now and I love it. Teaching from home gives children the opportunity for so much more one-on-one time. I also do a little writing and photography on the side. I used to be a cosmetologist and I've recently been thinking about getting into doing some makeup on the side.

I am currently unemployed outside the home, but I feel I still have a lot of "jobs". I am first of all a mother and a wife. My husband owns a small landscape maintenance company that I run the office for. I am a full-time student at a university as well. That keeps me plenty busy for now!

I am a full-time student, but I will be graduating in 15 weeks (not that I'm counting, or anything!) :-) I am also a full-time veterinary technician. That is what my degree will be in, actually. As a veterinary technician, I am a nurse, a dental hygienist, anesthesiology tech, radiography tech, janitor, grief counselor, surgery tech, receptionist, pharmacy technician, phlebotomist, and whatever else the veterinarian needs me to be. It is quite taxing, but I truly enjoy it. I feel like I am doing something worth while. However, I don't get paid much. The technicians in my state aren't required to be licensed, so they don't make as much. In other parts of the country there are technicians that makes over twice as much as me. I also teach private violin lessons on the side.

I am a Quality Assurance Contract manager for a comapany that contracts with the State of Florida to provide Dependency services to children and families in Clay County. Doesn;t that sound impressive? Actually I used to be able to say I work for the State of Florida in Fostercare but now the since this thing called privitization of state contracts -I am bought and sold to the highest bidder every three years, I haven't been under so many different company names since 1996.
