Once again we have another stray dog dropped on our doorstep... Buster the beagle who is such a loving dog so sweet and gentle I have no idea how old he is.. when he first got here he was skin and bones so we left some food out for him because we live on a back road surronded by woods i assumed that a hunter had lost him so i wouldnt bring him in the house, after about a week of him sleeping on the bed i made him on the porch and getting all nice and fat from me feeding him he just disappered so i figured he had went home because during the day he left so i just thought maybe he had found his way home well two days later i came out on the porch and he was laying there all tore up i about died i statred crying and scooped him up and off to the vet we went.. here another dog had gotten ahold of him and shook him so hard his skin had come loose from his body when you petted him you could feel air bubbles .. so now he is in the house with antibiotics and pain pills and warm compresses every few hours on his neck so that the vet hopefully doesnt have to put in a drain tube ( fingers crossed ) getting lots of love and attention and already has an appointment to get fixed as soon as he is all better.. now this is the second "stray" dog to end up at my house in need of medical care and the last one cost me over 200 dollars and we still have her too no one has ever tried to claim her.. so now we have 6 dogs my husband is going to kill me if anymore stray dogs turn up..lol.. ok enough with this rant.. my questions.. how can people be so insensitive when they get a dog that they can just drop it off?? every single one of my dogs are like members of the family.. how can people be so cruel as not to look high an low for their animal??? i know i would...and short of my husband killing me what do i do the next time this happens ??

This is the reason I can't watch animal cops or animal presinct, it makes me sick.

My brother's dog Coach was a rescue dog. Meaning some one beat the poor thing and he was taken away and then my brother adopted him. Coach is a very sweet dog.

The next time thatt this happens, you could give him to a friend, or put up flyers so that the owner might find him.

well the little girl that was a stray that ended up costing us 200 bucks actually was found in the woods by the neighbor who didnt want her so he kept chasing her off and I did put up posters with his pic and everything and nothing so whoever he belonged to really didnt want him... unfortunatly all our friends know how I am and they just automatically say no they wont even look at the animal cause they know I take in every stray I cant turn any of them away

hi there, silkyt34..
the title of your post caught my attention..
we can actually choose our responses to certain situations. yes, it is a natural, human thing to get mad at insensitive, uncaring people but we are also responsible for our responses. the Bible says, "in your anger, do not sin.."
as for your husband killing you the next time you bring a stray dog into your home, (ahaha, i don't think he would resort to that of course), will it be advisable to seek assistance from the animal shelter?
perhaps you can coordinate with the 'animal rights' group in your city so that you can put up your own animal shelter facility.
i'm also quite like you. it's just that i'm partial to stray cats, not dogs. but if i will have lots of money, one of my 'pet' projects would be to put up a facility for all types of stray animals..
God wants us to take care of His creation so it is every human being's responsibility to take care of the animals entrusted to them. as for those who don't like pets, still, they are expected to 'respect' the God-given lives of those animals.
happy myLotting!

lol no he wouldnt do that altho he has threatened it..lol but we have several shelters around here and they all say the same thing we are filled up and if you want you can start your own shelter which i would LOVE to do but again he has said no.. see i think its because we have also taken in two horses and two goats and a cat and our own cat just had kittens...lol thankfully we live on a farm !! litterly we are overflowing with animals...but i am still going to look into making an animal shelter..lol

I have no idea. People are just mean sometimes and I think they devalue animals because they think they are stupid. I know my dog though comforts me and knows when I am sad or sick or whatever. I could never do it.
