What exactly is Womens Day celebrated for?

Womens day is the show of the day.but i still cant understand the point in celebrating such a day in recent times when women r definitely empowered and using their strengths to their best advantage.backwardness is prevalent in everything.then why just pinpoint a woman or create a day for them? lol i think next in the coming is Man Day. bcoz only he is left.mother, father, children, teacher,lovers, women r all covered.i think even brothers day and sisters day r in the offing. i dont want to see daughters day and son day now itself in my lifetime. if we show regard and care for our family and friends daily what is the need to create and celebrate such days?
