What is up with American Apparel's advertising?!

Have you seen those American Apparel ads? everyone always looks sweaty and hungover and like they just got done hooking up with a stranger in the bathroom of a bar. I've always wondered, does anyone find this advertising appealing?!

Lol I've seen it and I know what you mean. I think it's just because their models aren't professional, expensive, high-quality models. It looks like they just asked their friends to wear the clothes so they could take pictures of them. But, I think that's kind of the look they're going for.. their clothes seem to be very 80s, homeless person type clothes...
