Has Anyone Else Been "Moodier" Than Lately?

I don't know if part of how I've been feeling lately is due to the wacky weather or what. Also, last month, I had one of my bouts of bronchitis and yes did go to the doctor and got medication, but it still feels like it hasn't completely cleared up yet. My energy level kind of sucks as well. Then I was thinking too, it could also be the change of not only the seasons but the dramatic changes in weather where I am...one day it's a snow blizzard and then a few days later we get days in the 70s, then back down to the 40s or 50s....talk about yo-yo weather. I have one MyLot friend here who also had a bout of bronchitis the same time as me and even he says he's not all "there" yet. Anyway, since my energy level has been kind of low I'm not getting as much done as I've normally get done....and oh, how I hate that
...I'll confess lots of times lately I'm just not "into" MyLotting". I'm so used to being the workaholic and doing things every moment I'm awake....now it's like I have brain fog.
So my question is...have any of you been moodier than lately? Think it's the weather? Does weather make you moody?

Those extremes are also normal for Oklahoma and Kansas. I saw snow this morning, but we had summery weather last week.Friday and Saturday were beautiful.

The weather doesn't make me moody... I tend to make the best of each day as it comes, but I know where you're coming from with the "health" thing... the feeling lethargic and tired. I don't know what's causing it, but I've been feeling the same way and although I haven't had bronchitis, I did have that horrible flu and chest infection for about four weeks, before Christmas, followed by a couple of five-day colds with a raspy throat. However, a few doses of vitamin C and stuff, and I got back on track. You're right though... it's as though there's something in the air. Nearly everybody is suffering one way or another, and my darts league is suffering with whole teams going down with viruses. I just try to stay on top of it all... it's me, or us, not the weather, I feel. Our weather is fairly normal for the time of year.
Brightest Blessings.

Our weather has proven to be wacky again...last Monday it snowed, then a few days later up in the 70s, now it's plunged back down to the 30s again.

Oh yes I am the same way. I think it is the change of weather too because a few days have been up in the '60s which is warm for Ohio and then the next few days it will be raining and cold. I just wish the weather would stay warm.
I think our moods also have something to do with the phases of the moon. I have heard a lot about this and read up on it but I couldn't tell you exactly how it works.
Sorry about your bronchitis. Hope you get better soon and hope the weather makes up it's mind! :)

Could be the time change too affecting me. Seems to take me forever to get used to it...I have to kind of force myself to go to bed at the "usual" time but then I remember..oh, it's really an hour earlier....LOL

Yes, I have been a little moodier lately. The weather does has something to do with it, but I have a few other things going on here to mess with my mood. My almost 91 year old grandma has been staying with us, I like having her here, but I'm also going to have my step-daughter and her 7 month old grandson stay here too. There is so much going on here. I also haven't been feeling well lately. I too have been having a bout of bronchitis.

I am the same way as you. My son was sick and I got sick from him I guess and all the pollen and junk in the air don't help. Winds gusting up to 50mph blows it everywhere. This crud kicked me in the butt and has drained me. I have not had a cough like this in a few years but it is getting some better but body is sore from the cough. Our temps are usually on the warm side but will have 40's on friday morning then of course we will be back in the 80's for highs. I hope you feel better soon and everyone else who is feeling this way.

Weather does make me moody, I will admit. I am moodier lately but it is because of work. I actually discovered a couple of weeks ago that I am happier overall than I have been in years. Work is running my life right now, and it is exhausting, but fulfilling. I know why I have a brain fog.It is information and obligation overload. What type of medication did your bronchitis require? That may actually be part of it.

I've been doing a lot of work too..not lately, but I do know what you mean by information and obligation overload...like a burnt out feeling. I took Augmentin, an antibiotic, and yes, they're known to create fatigue also.

I am very moody lately. I am positive that it is related to weather. Yesterday afternoon was 64F and this morning only 16F (feels like 0F)....brrrrrrrrrrr
I am very tired with long, cold winter. As you know it was the worst winter in Chicago in 40 years. We start harsh winter right after thanksgiving....it makes me feel like never ending winter...I need sunny days with at least 55F to feel better....
HUGS

How's the weather now? Any warmer? We're having completely strange weather...been in the 50s but toward the end of the week will plummet down to the 30s---think my allergies are starting up to...oh joy..NOT

The weather has DEFINITLEY made me moody. Today I wake up and its 22 degrees... I looked online and found that our weather is actually about average for March but I think 22 is close to the lower end. We also had a few warmer years the past few years so this one feels like the ice age!!!!
I have plans coming up in March, April and the summer so it's hard to see this constant cold weather. I got a wedding in April and I was planning to wear a light sundress and now I don't even know!
Besides that, I would say the economy doesn't help. Every day you sit there thinking that it's gonna get worse, then other days you say "who gives a crap" and try to just forget about it - but it's always in the back of your mind.
I think we just need some good weather and some goods in the economy to make us lift our spirits! I also try to avoid the computer when I feel moody b/c I don't get anything productive done. Whether it's mylot, writing articles, playing with pictures, or what not - if I'm not in the mood there is no way I can even force myself to get productive.

I don't get much productive stuff done either when I'm moody...like if I have article ideas and I know I need to write them out I'm just not with it or "there" to do them....at least nothing that would make sense

Exactly. Whenever I try to write something when I'm not in the mood - 20 minutes later I got a big mess of an article that is basically useless b/c I wrote it in such a crazy confused fashion. It's best to take a break and do somehting fun when you are moody - unless you absolutely have to do something productive in which case.... just suck it up the best you can and get it done :)

Hi Pye, at the moment I feel really good as for the past 3mnths I have been ill which has made me feel lethargic, moody very emotional and down, the last thing I have even felt like doing is mylotting but thankfully now I am better I am back to normal, and doing the usual things. and now am thankful for being able to come back to mylot..yet I can understand how you are feeling, yet the 'wacky' weather everyone has been getting could easily be part of the reason you are feeling the way you are too, I am sure that the weather affects everyone in some way..especially at the moment as none of us really know how it is going to be at any one time..it changes from day to day...hugs littleowl

Yes, yes, YES! With me, it's hormones - I know that. Also, we've had gloomy, overcast weather, and my creaking body needs a bit of sunshine every day for that good ol' Vitamin D. A few days of crappy weather and I start feeling down. Being menopausal doesn't help - but I've gotten some natural tablets which have got rid of the hot flushes, thank goodness - so that's a bit of improvement!

I try to keep more upbeat also...even in my emails to people or posting discussions or answering them too. My "real" life friends (by that the ones I call up from time to time and are in my "physical" life that I can interact in the physical form..not just cyberspace)..anyway they must wonder what the freak is going on with me as I haven't called them recently...but the LAST thing I want to do is yak on the phone to them

I think I do for a few weeks now. I tend to burst into tears whenever I think of a very important thing that I am trying so hard to make it work but somehow some factors or situations won't let me. I am about to give up on it but my mind and heart tells me to hold on. sighhhh.... I felt like bringing a bucket anywhere I go to even at work lol... it's not the weather here though it's been pretty hot all day and night... about 36 degrees celsius or so...
but my being moody is not because of the hot weather for sure... T_T
thanks for posting this pye, I felt much better for a bit for venting my frustrations on here... T_T

I was slightly irritable today. Don't know if it was the weather or I am getting my period soon.
My 5 year old was sitting on the floor by me and he touched my leg a couple of times and it felt so uncomfortable and made me angry. I didn't complain or yell at him or anything but I sure felt like telling him to go away and leave me alone.
I am not drinking as much caffine as I used to so its not caffine.
Maybe I am going through early menopause or something who knows, I am 41.
As for your question on the weather making me moody, it only makes me moody if its really hot.

Well since you mention you're not drinking as much caffeine now, that can actually make a person moody too..LOL...it's like anytime one is trying to cleanse the system and reduce something it's like one is going into a kind of withdrawal from it

Yep, I've been moodier. And I can't even blame it on being bipolar. Ugh! Sometimes I just have to keep my mouth shut because if I open it I know nothing good can come from it. And I don't like feeling like that. Hopefully the weather can make amends with us.

Hi pyewacket! I hope that you are feeling much better today dear friend. It has been very hot here in my country and it has been forecast that we might be enduring a hot temperature of 43 degrees C this coming week! That is really hot and we are being warned for heat stroke. However, that didn't make me moody except that I have headaches for the past days.
Take care and blessings to you!

I think the weather does affect peoples moods, the weather here has been cold all winter, yeah obviously but it has been colder here than in recent years. It has seemed endless and that is just depressing I am longing for warmer days now. But in saying that, the weather has been pretty mild here for this past week and I feel in better spirits. My son has bronchial problems, he is only 7 and he had a cold a couple of weeks back that went straight to his chest and turned into an infection, gosh he was so poorly, he was off school all last week he is still coughing now but seems better. He ended up on steroids and antibiotics all week poor lad.

Pye-
Thanks, I enjoy reading your writings too! Yes, I've been using "namaste" for some time now and I love the meaning. I've been looking for a plaque of it to post outside our apartment door. (Though I tend to redo our door in accordance with the Sabbats lol-makes the Samhain really FUN). My egg wreath broke though this year so I have to get another one. Of course, this info is probably really off topic huh lol.
