When you are waiting to be published...

I just wrote some prose and am waiting for it to be reviewed and published. I am anxious to see how much they pay me and how well it does with performance views. I am not getting my hopes up, but it's just an interesting experiment for me because I normally write health articles or product reviews and know how much I usually average for such articles, and I write poetry as well which doesn't normally receive up-front payments, but this is the first time in a long time I have submitted a short story. Do you ever get a little excited and anxious when you publish something new on Associated Content, especially if you are deviating from your norm?

I've been waiting for a few things, but I really haven't been submitting things to the site long enough to really tell how much I might make, or really differentiate from the norm on what I write. I like to try to write the same things though, which are short stories. I do believe I submitted a few things, got it to upfront payment, but then I deleted it and am going through the process again.

Just out of curiosity, how much do you usually make off of short stories? Do you get upfront payment? Many hits on the stories?

AC is a great site, and if you publish your work for performance only, or non-exclusive rights, you retain the rights to publish the work elsewhere and therefor, you can also put your work on Helium.

Even when I am writing Calls for Content I get nervous sometimes that it won't be accepted. I wrote a memoir piece and earned $20 from it, my biggest upfront payment and the only thing that I wrote in that section ever so I was pleasantly surprised. Hopefully you will be with the offer piece that you wrote... I hope it is a good one! :)

Sure I do, I actually have a call for content that I need to do, it doesn't pay upfront but on your topic about waiting to see what they offer, its always exciting. I can't wait to read it!

I have been writing for AC since July. I love it there. I also publish on Triond, and just yesterday, I started with Helium. I do detour from the norm once in a while, and yes, it is exciting to see what kind of payment I am offerred. I check my e-mail daily, and always get a little excited when I see one from them. It took me three months to reach my first performance payment payout, I didn't do much along the lines of promoting myself except to family and friends. When I hit that first payout, I remember being so excited! I called mt Mom right away because I just haf to tell her.

Hello my friend Bethany1202 Ji, The very excitements derived from after publishing itself is a great feeling. I remember when my first point brought out in local news paper, where there was no string of any payments etc elevated me to new heights. Also, in your case, you have now changed the root, I feel one way it is good. Once you start writing and train starts rolling, it is bound to pick up speed. Initially, you may not be that much read, but later on, you will enjoy. may god bless you and have great time.

Good luck with your submission, I hope it earns some up-front money. I haven't submitted many articles in the last 6 months, and I often set out to try and write at least one article a week, but somehow lose track of time and never get anything finished and submitted. I have been lucky enough to continue to earn performance payouts either every month or every other month from the articles I submitted over the last 18 months. Maybe today will be the day, as I have wanted to do product reviews for awhile. I'll have to try and find you over at AC...and help with your views
