I think at times I have too may pets but then I don't think any of them could be eliminated. Actually most of the additions were done by my children but I do the primary care-feeding of all of them.
We have 3 dogs
1 cockatiel
2 rabbits
3 ferrets
1 domestic rat
We used to have a goat (outside goat) but he recently passed away.
The rabbits are outside always and the feretts are outside most of the time due to their distinct aroma. Everyone else is inside most of the time execpt for waste elimination. So there are no new pets in the works and I think we have at this time just enough.

Wow, you got yourself the beginnings of a zoo there. That is way too many pets for me! Although when I was living at home, we had up to at any time, several hamsters (I had maybe up to six at a time), two geckos, 2 dogs and 3 cats. The dogs and cats stayed outside because several of my family members are allergic. Now I have two indoor cats and thats enough for me, although if I owned my own space I would foster kittens.

If I did not put my foot down we would have about 50 cats and two dogs. My daughte is a avid pet lover. We have one cat and one dog. The dog was a gift given when I was in the hospital. I had planned to get rid of it when I got home ,but he was so cute. I love pets too , but I try to explain too many can hurt them. Two is enough.

I have had a lot of animals at one time, and I mean ALOT, I won't name the number here. At one point I worked for an animal shelter, and it just happened. I realized that I couldn't take care of them anymore, cause that's all I would do all day long, is take care of animals, morning to evening. I think if you are beginning to think about it then you have too many animals.

You're lucky, where _I_ lvie we've got a city ordinance that, unelss we're registered farmers, we cannot have mroe than two dogs, OR three cats at a tme...meaning we either get the two dogs..or thethree cats...or one dog, two cats....and no farm animals like goats, horses, or pot-belied pigs....no fair!
