hw real and good are online friendships and relations?

i often keep wondering if online friendship is good or bad.not affairs but real friendships.but going through the papers and hearing things around i tend to get a doubt if we really find good online friends.what is ur opinion? is there a thing called online friendship? is it real or false? can we get good friends here also as we get in real life.are they life long or short lived.

Human is an emotional animal .We all crave and search for love,affection,recognition and emotional comfort involuntarily.
Unfortunately many of us tend to trust crooks who are sweet, charming and ready to exploit us emotionally.
Forums on net are places where you can learn a lot and become wiser with out burning your fingers.
