I saw the other night that the Chinese are coming to America and touring different properties and homes that are on the market with the possibility of buying. They think that this is a good time to buy American property. I can't disagree on that, but I wonder if this is going to become a trend for foreigners to come and buy property. How do you feel about the Chinese/other foreigners investing in American property?

I have been hearing about it a lot lately. People from other countries not just china are coming here and buying up foreclosed houses cheap. They won't live in them. But just hold on to them until the market gets better and then resell them for a huge profit.
I have heard of people here in this country buying up houses at 1/4 or less of their value just for that purpose too. To rent them out until home prices recover and then sell them. Not a bad investment if you have that kind of money cash on hand and can afford to wait 5 or so years for the market to recover.

I guess as long as you have money to invest, it doesn't matter what country you actually live in.

Hi Bmorehouse1,
America is America is America...the land of the free, the land of all possiblilities, the land in which one can fulfill ones dream...And most importantly the land where you won't be turned away!!
I don't have a problem with this...the Chinese and many other foreigners are hard working people and most come from very poor countries where opportunity is just a dream never a reality.
