I don't put much salt in my food. I guess the only salt I eat on a regular basis is what's already in the food. I sometimes will put salt on my french fries. I just don't see the need at times.

I don't put salt on everything, but from time to time I might put it on a salad, something I saw my fiance's father do one time, then tried it and it's not bad. Then again he also adds pepper, and that's how I put it, with both salt and pepper. Now I like ketchup as well, and I can't say that I put it on everything, but there are times I want ketchup and times I might want ranch dressing, just because it's there. I won't go out of my way to put ranch on something unless I'm in a ranch dressing kind of mood. Great discussion! Have a wonderful day!

I rarely salt my food. Sometimes if I can tell the food really needs salt because it's lacking spice, then I will use a bit of salt and maybe some pepper. However, I rarely do this. I rarely do it several times a year I believe. I just don't like salt that much especially heavy amounts of salt on just about everything I eat. My grandfather uses salt and pepper on everything, even if the food is flavored well enough before it. He usually doesn't take a bite of it first either. As soon as he has his plate, he sits down and puts huge shakes of salt and pepper on and then starts eating.

I always put salt on my food, I use Himalayan Pink Salt I order it online. It has 84 minerals in it it's very very good salt and it has a nice salt taste it's not too strong and not too weak. I love ketchup but it burns my stomach it's kinda like taking a swig of whiskey lol I think it's the vinegar they put in it or something I don't know but I still eat it sometimes I will mix it with mayo so that it's mellowed out.

I put salt on our food all the time although of course minimal, not much, just enough for the taste. In frying, stir fry, stew and any kind of cooking that needs to be flavored salty.
About ketchup, well this is my youngest brother's favorite condiment, he puts ketchup on every possible and impossible food that needs ketchup, you can see it on his plate a lot. But for me, not that much, i can only put ketchup on fried foods and some sandwich with hotdog.

Yes,i agree you should just use enough for taste other wise, too much ruin the natural flavor of the food you are acually cooking.

Hi isabella
I don't add salt in my food once it is prepared.
Salt is also called sodium chloride. It is the sodium part of salt that is important. The body needs a certain amount of sodium to function properly.
Sodium helps to maintain the concentration of body fluids at correct levels. It also plays a central role in the transmission of electrical impulses in the nerves, and helps cells to take up nutrients.
But we need only 1 to 1.5 spoon of salt(6gm) per day. When you consume excess salt,we are likely to increase our blood pressure which will lead to heart diseases.
I like to add pepper powder in potato chips or french fries.
People who take more salt should take more fruits to keep them healthy.
Happy mylotting

I put salt on everything. Even pizza. I use a lot of salt. I have slacked off a lot on the salt since I have gotten older but still use a lot. I try to salt my food before I go to the table with it because my kids have started loving salt. I have always been told I will have high blood pressure because of my high salt intake. But so far so good. When I was younger my favorite snack was lemon and salt. I use to go through a bag of them a week. So good with the salt.
When I was in the girl's home, I was not allowed to salt my own food. Someone else had to do it for me, because they said I used to much. I am one of those people that will not eat food without salt. I use to keep a salt shaker in my vehicle at all times. Now I just use salt packets.

Hey there! I also put salt on my food, but not on everything. It makes the dish more tasty and delicious. I also add black pepper, onion, and garlic. Chili is also one along with soya sauce and vinegar. I like dipping on ketchup for anything that is fried. Have a nice day. Happy posting!!

I use very little salt on my food. My dad was a big salt person. When I was young, I remember my mom yelling almost every night at my dad as he would grab the salt and start dousing his food before he even tasted it. I use garlic more on foods like eggs and noodles, and sometimes potatos.

Well, I try to not use extra salt on most foods, and I don't like ketchup, gravy, relish, mustard and mayo. I love barbecue sauce and pretty much put it on anything that involves eating meat.

I'm a ketchup and ranch kind of girl. Though I do like to put morton's natures seasoning on most foods as well, it just seems to be the right balance of seasoning flavors w/o being too strong. I only really use salt for baking purposes.

There are very few foods that I absolutely can not have without salt on them. I almost never cook with salt as I like the natural flavors of foods to come through in my dishes.

I donĀ“t cook with slt my veggies, but add salt when I serve them. On the other hand, I put salt in meats, stews and cassoroles when I am preparing them. I use less salt if I am going to freeze part of a dish. As for the food you mention, it seems that you are talking about prepared food and I cook everything from scratch.

No i do not have a habit of pouring salt on each and every item. While cooking everything is added adequately then why go for it again. And more salt is dangerous to heart is said by Doctors so i just avoid it. In fact i don't like much salt. But if the item is salt less then i do prefer a little salt because without salt everything is taste less.
