my mom had her last radiation treatment yesterday and everyone thought it was weird that i was taking her out to eat to celebrate afterwards.. im sorry but surviving 4 times with cancer and 6 weeks of daily radiation that she completed is something to celebrate!! but maybe im weird in this.. do you celebrate things like this?? i felt like she needed some pampering with all she had been through and to show her i appreciated her being alive and fighting!! didnt seem odd to me but everyone else seems to think its silly.. oh well!

Congratulations to your mom and the rest of the family also! I'm sure it was an exciting day for everyone! I don't think it's strange at all that you would want to take your mother out to celebrate something like that. I would consider it a huge accomplishment for her. Like you said, I think she definitely deserves to be pampered and appreciated after everything she has gone through, and I think making a celebration out of it is a great idea! Congrats again to you and your mom and I hope she will stay healthy for a very long time!!

You did the right thing. I don't think that is weird act, for just showing your happiness that your mom went through so much. Your unique way of showing your love for your mom. Don't worry, you are loving your mom, as long as she understand that.

I think that was a wonderful idea. Life is cause for great celebration. We continue to celebrate my mom being cancer free for 11 years. Best wishes to your family and keep the spirits up

i was so happy that it made her day too.. she was beaming and bragging to everyone that i was taking her out.. i dont get to do much nice for her but i wanted her to know that she was special and this last round of cancer really terrified me so i was ready to celebrate!!
