At work, I saw a lot of people were trying to kissing butt. To gain favor from their superior. That is human nature I believe. That is the only way of survival. Don't you agree?

Yes, it is very common in workplace. However, I don't think that is the only way to survive. For a real professional and with strong competent, he doesn't have to do so and his shine, passionate and energy will attract and influence people around him, including his superior!

That is low! I never done that, and I never will. Focus on doing your job the best you can, believe in yourself, and just keep on striving, that is the way to survive.

i noticed that too, when i was still working, a lot of my co workers would greet our manager and make small talks, when we all know that they hate him, we all hated him, i would ask them why they said it wont hurt to have good image and relationship with your superiors even if it makes them look bad to those who doesn't do the same. i hate kissing butts, i'd rather work hard and show them what i can do to get noticed by my superiors. i think it's kinda low to kiss butts...SMILE!
