Have you ever talked back to your boss/teacher/superior?

Last night, I remembered the time when I went up against my teacher when she made me stand up because I gave the wrong answer to an easy question. I told her what she was doing was "capital punishment" and I didn't like it. The whole room went quiet and my friends all looked at me like I was insane lol :D There followed an argument in which she told me her rules and if I didn't like it I should just move to another section. She let me stay after class and gave me a lecture about respecting elders in a serious but oddly calm manner.
This incident became somewhat of a sensation since no one ever talked back to that professor in public before. I was retelling the experience over again to curious students who asked me about it the following weeks. Oddly enough, this also caused the professor to respect me more and we became casual (albeit uncomfortable) friends.
Have you ever talked back to a boss or superior when you had your career or education on the line?

Hey, that is mighty bold of you. Actually, you were in the wrong and on top of that you gave back. haha. The poor professor must have been amazed. Do a wrong and then harp on it. Well, Ive never spoken back to my seniors ever, but when the incident has cooled off, I tell my boss my side of the story and make him see reason for it. He has been magnanimous enough to apologise, if he feels he has wronged me. I guess its the best way. Respect is built between us. I've learnt to understand my boss. his bark is worse than his bite, so we forget tiffs pretty fast.

you're pretty assertive. I guess you deserve a payrise if you're willing to demand it from your boss :D

I hate people telling me what to do and think they can do anything for being my teacher/elder o something.
