Honestly, I think it quite interesting. I mean Gundam is actually a shonen series or intended for boys but, it seems that the series has started to evolve and now has captured not only the interest of boys but girls as well. If your talking about building models, that too is interesting since building set models has always been regarded as a male interest while females would be known for creative activities that don't require guides of any kind. Don't feel bad, just do what you are interested in and don't be bothered with what narrow minded people would say.

I honestly don't think it's weird for a female to like Gundams. I'm a girl and I enjoy watching Gundam shows and collecting figurines. The Gundam stories are actually very interesting and intriguing. It's not all about the giant robots after all. But I do know what you're trying to say. People give me that expression or look too when they find out that I like watching Gundam and other type of mech shows. My response would be to ask them if they find it weird for guys to like shoujo series or chick flicks.

I'm a woman too, and I don't think it's strange that women like gundam XD Even though, well, I only could talk about gundam with my male friends because err, my female friends don't even know this series exist. All they know is shoujo manga and that's it. I love gundam because it's cool? XD? I don't know, but in Gundam 00 second season, I got annoyed because it's not all about gundam anymore, it's all about love and all now. That made me think that Gundam 00 Season One is better than the sequel err. You don't have to feel strange about liking gundam and all. In interwebs, every girl I stumbled almost all ever watched gundam and liked it XD
