Hi fellow mylotters.
Summer vacation for most schools is two weeks away. We are planning to take my daughter to a nice beach resort. Boracay is out of the question as time is a consideration. I only have three days to be exact.
Do you know any resorts in Luzon?...maybe two to three hours away from Metro Manila.
Kindly include the amenities and activities they offer.
Thank you so much in advance.

Three our ride going to the beach will be Batangas area in the south, but going north the three hours will just be along Tarlac, maybe make it five to reach iether Pangasinan or La Union , You will find a lot there.
West side of Manila ,you go Puerto Galera as crazy overpurple said is good. Normally I leave Manila around 1 am, drive by car and by day break we are at place then leave the area around two pm and back to Manila just in time to rest. Pagudpud is a good place in the North but it takes 10 hours by land.

I was been at Pagudpud but that was 6 years ago, its nice and beautiful but its so tiring really, so we stop by Narvacan Beach and slept.
But going to Patar Beach of Pangasinan is closer via North express to Dau then to Tarlac, at victory liner junction take the road to Camiling to Bugallon next junction take road to Sual to Alaminos pass the town of Bani and turn right to Bolinao, ask Patar Beach and you can choose from so many you can afford. Enjoy your time and be careful driving. i' try to search the map for you if you are really interested. Happy posting..

Hi edujccz.
A five-hour drive might be considered. Can you recommend one in Pangasinan or La Union?
I would love to go to Pagudpud but it's just too far.I can't imagine driving for ten hours...even if my husband and I take turns. But I will make sure to go there in the near future. Have you been there? How was it?
Thanks so much. Happy mylottin!

Hi elmolovesu! I have always wanted to go to Pagudpud because I have heard from relatives and friends how beautiful it is. I have never had the chance to see it yet. Maybe you also would like to see Pagudpud beach in Ilocos Norte. I tried looking for resorts there in the internet and have found one listed.
Here's the link so you can check it out if you like it.

Hoping that could help you somehow.

Batangas ^_~ It's the best choice here in Luzon ^_~
San Juan Batangas is the best I think.
White sand beach, Crystal clear waters. Very relaxing ^_~
Maybe La Luz Resort? Try to search it on net. I think there's a site of it ^_~
Good luck

for me it's in ANILAO, BATANGAS...there are lots of white sand beaches there almost like being in Boracay.
also in Anilao, there are many diving spots if you are a diving enthusiast.

Your suggestion is very interesting, rymebristol. Any particular resort in Anilao?

I don't have any specific resort in mind but you may try looking up the beach resorts in the internet in: Tagaytay, La Union (Hundred Islands), Zambales. The last two are not exactly near manila...but since we already have SCTEX (Subic Clark Tarlac Express Way) then the regular travel time has been shorten by at least 1.5 hours :)
Thanks for the response in my discussion!

I agree that the beaches in Olongapo-Subic area are good. They also have good resorts there. And if you get tired of the beach, you can venture in Ocean Adventure and the Subic Safari.
If you want to go farther north, the island hopping in Hundred Islands in Pangasinan is also recommendable. Or maybe you can go straight to the beach resorts in Baung, San Fernando and San Juan in La Union. They are just 6-7 hours away from Manila. And after enjoying the summer heat from there, you can also drop by at Baguio before going back to Manila.
Southward, there are lots too. Puerto Galera is very good but there are also lots of visitors in the island at this time of the year. You may try some of the beaches in Cavite. Those are the nearest resort from Manila going south. If you are into diving adventure, try the resorts in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. Or if you want to be different, there are lots of hot springs in Pansol, Laguna. They are not as popular as the beaches during summer but they good relaxing places too.
Anyway, whichever you choose, I wish you and your family an enjoyable and great bonding session this summer vacation.

you can visit Puerto Galera in Mindoro, it's as good as Boracay. you can also go to the beaches of the Ilocos region like in La Union where you can go surfing as well as in Pagudpud. you can also visit Caramoan in Camarines Sur, it's like a virgin island, and the scenery is very nice you can even go island hopping.
