here is a question about the cellphone. my answer is "no ,i can not" .there are three requisites in my bag no matter where i go . they are cellphone , purse, and the key. if i am waiting for a bus or waiting for my lunch alone, i must take out my cellphone and confirm that is anyone send message to me, or is there anyone called me ?? maybe i am so boring, maybe looking up message in the cellphone has become my custom. no matter why,in a word ,i can't live with it.
how about you?? thank you .

When cellular phones were made available in our country the Philippines, lots of cheap phones flock the market. Cellphone network subscription has boomed, about half or if not almost all of the entire population of the Philippines has a cellphone in hand. Some people also have about 2-3 units of cellphones in hand. During those days, I admit im a cellphone addict, as if you can't really go anywhere without taking your cellphone with you, even while taking a bath ot going to the toilet still its hanging by your neck. It was the time when you can even spare to skip meal just to text and send messages to your textmates and friends. There was i time too, when i was able to change unit almost 3 times a year. Always looking for the next best model to buy. However, as I get older, I dunno why but I lost the interest in cellphones, I can even spare leaving it at home. Got bored texting and sending messages. My unit now is almost 3 years old now and despite the arrival of newer and fascinating models like the Apple Ipod3G or the Blackberry Storm, I think they are just plain cellphones at all, only modified with added features. Before if I can send about 15 messages per minute, now just 2 or 3 messages per day. I text only or call when there is something important to tell to my friends or family. Right know I can safely say I can live without cellphones even to this modern times, besides when we had not cellphones at all we are still able to live the best of life isn't it.

Of course I can live without my cell phone. Even if how dependent I am to my mobile phone I can still continue my life without it. I know that many people can't live without it and I understand since mobile pohne is also used to save important things or dates or memos aside from the contact numbers.

I can live without a cell phone but I chose not to, since it is the only way I can get in touch with my loved ones when I get out of the house, am working or walking.
Any activity outside the home will take too long for me as I do not drive, so it is nice to be able to have a cell phone to let my loved ones know what I'm doing.

Hi there Lingzi!
If you asked me about five years ago, I will say, "Why not?" But now, that I ahve experienced the convenience and practicality of having one, I will say "Of course, not." Mobile phones have become essential in our daily lives no matter what we do, whether we're studying, working, self-employed, or stay-at-home moms. It would be very difficult to live without one.

lingzi,
I can say that I can live without my cellphone and I can set it aside or even switch it off.
I can understand the pros of being able to be contactable at "all times" when we have this high tech wireless device but in truth, do we really need to be contactable at ALL TIMES? I think not. Because, we need to have our own private times for rest and family. So, I will off the phone when I am home and should there be a real emergency the office call center will pick up the call and assess if my attention is required and should the need be then I will be contacted on my home land line.
If you do not have such a setup similar to mine, you can always preset your cellphone's divert mode to your home landline and to be safe you can always have an caller id display attached to your landline too, so that you will be able to know who is calling you.
I think having a cellphone can be a good thing but if we do not have a control over it then it will be a adverse thing. We can always customize the phone's usage by making full use of its features and thus let us gain a control over them and not the opposite way round.
Have a nice day.

Sorry, was I really serious?
Anyway, I am just someone who doesn't like device and gadget to control my life. It should be likewise for you and I hope so too.
Take care.

HI there ,
Addicted to 'em ain't we... it really is a different day when don't have our cell phone with us .
Well to say , i had lived without my n73 for nearly 2 months ,since i had given it to service in nokia priority .Where they found out some critical problem and it took them nearly 2 months to bring it back to its right condition .
It was really tough on me in the fist week ,i had this imaginery things going on that what if i dont get it back and all the negatives were filling up my mind , besides i lost touch with frens as all the contacts were in that .
But after that 1 week ,i forgot about the bad feelings and went around doing things which made me forget about my cell.
But finally i got my cell, and boy did i have a nice time with it ,,, and from that day onwards i made sure that i would be careful enough .
Cheers

No, I cant since we eliminated the land line phone several years ago and we only have our cell phones. That is the only means that we have to get hold of our family and vice versa.... of course for things that are not that important we do have email, but for the most part we use our email for friends and work..
happy mylotting.

I have on and off again over the past 7-8 years had a cell phone, and I am not ashamed to admit that at this present time I would not be able to function very well without my cellphone. Surely I would not fall over and die without it, but it has proven to be a very valuble resource in today's society

Let me put it this way:
If I can use my cell phone as a makeshift PDA, then no, I can't live without it. After all, I got skype on my netbook as an alternative.
However, since I don't have many friends, and since I can't trust my family much anymore because of the mess they put me in, yes, I wouldn't mind if I didn't have my cell phone except for use as my PDA, scheduler, reminder, etc. I do need to have something to tell what time it is anyway. I don't call people on my cell phone much, so it wouldn't matter. The other features of my cell phone will do.

At the moment no I can not live without my cell phone. I am 1,000 miles away from home and it is the only way I have of talking to my family. I guess I can't live without it either way though. It has just become an everyday part of my life. Have a blessed day.

At the moment, I find it hard to live without my mobile phone. I am a working mom, so I communicate with my mother, who takes care of daughter, very often with it so I am updated with how my daughter is during the day. The father of daughter and I work in different shifts, so we communicate using the mobile phone very often. It's very essential to me and my family now, so I don't leave without it, or else I will be uneasy and worrisome during the day.

Of course I can't.Wherever I go I'll bring along my mobilephone in order to facilitate me to call for someone when there is an urgent.Once upon a time,I forgot taking the phone, finally I find I had ten phonenumbers didn't answered and missed some lient. So carry the phone beside you is necessary and essential!
