Do you like being begged for help?

It seems that i have this friend that does.
He seems to thrive when people who needs his help has to beg him for it.
He offered to lend me a textbook that i need for this semester. And i accepted. But when he passed me the book, he told me there was a charge of $15 for the entire semester. I was taken aback, but i took out my wallet to pay him. But he stopped me and said he was kidding.
And then there was another event whereby i asked him for his help, but one minute he says ok and the next he says no because he wants me to barter something with him. I don't know if it's in the name of jest. But i don't like to beg. If you don't want to help me, i can always ask someone else.
Do you like to be begged for help? Or do you mind begging for help?

If that is not desperate situation, I won't normally do something like that. That is serious matter. If he was such a good friend, he shouldn't play a such joke to degrade people like that. You should consider this friendship.

To be sure i like neither.Its an old saying dat "friends in need r a friend indeed." n i believe in this.If i won't ask for help from a frnd whom would i ask.i agree its not possible to alwaz lend a helping handbut i will alwz try to do so as much of it is in my hands.n If ur frnd had told u about d mmoney before lending ur book it would have been better rather dan after prooving himself to b a ggod frnd n den doing d opposite. i gues he just wanted to prove to u how good he has been to as others would have asked money..n he didn't.On d other hand, if he don't want to help u ..den he should have told u his problems rather dan giving excuses.moreover, y would u need to beg to a friend..if he/she is indeed a friend...??i don't like hypocrites like this..n if i were in ur place i would never ask anythng from this person again.

exactly. if he is truly a friend i won't need to beg. but he seems to want me to.
perhaps i wasn't in the mood to accommodate him.

This thing you talk is surprise for me . A friend is who give you help without anything back. I think that is really friend. I don't like to be begged for help.
